Hey TrainWebsGuy welcome to Big Blue. Can I suggest that both you and your Dad check out the threads on GERN.

I managed to get my Dad to sign up to Facebook last week. My next job is to get him to sign up to this forum, he's a very private man but is passionate about trains and models.
I will pick out some good posts to get him warmed up. :hey:

It's funny though, FB isn't that bad, it has a lot of customizing for privacy. You can still make a fake name, block whoever you want, set your settings to allow whoever you want to view or contact you, setup your profile to however you want.

FB kicked me out I was Steve E'Paw there,,,but they changed it to my real name and locked me out of my account..To tell ya the truth I really don't miss it.

Hi,
I joined FB four years ago with my real name and a few infos about me. Most of my interest is modelrailroad,modelbuilding and vintage cars. Wrote with some nice people on FB. Visited one other modelrailroader not far away and he later also vsited me for some operating sessions. Interesting thing is that a real live friend of mine tried to find me over FB with my real name and couldn´t...don´t know why but it´s ok for me. Must have done something correct on my settings,lol...
