A great combination for vacation, the Swiss Alps and Swiss railroading!
I was four times doing exactly this - vacation near to one of Bernina Express station in Graubuenden and in Grindelwald near to Eiger, Moench, Jungfrau. Vacation how written, railroading, hiking and ropeway riding. It was fantastic!
Thanks for sharing this video! It reminds me to very nice times!
Cheers, Bernd

Those viaducts really are amazing with their graceful arches .

Shades of the Wilbur Loop! Those are some steep, tight turns.
Very nice. I always liked the Alps when I lived over there, and I loved European trains. 8-)

Reminded me of our family holiday a couple of years ago,we stayed on Lake Como, used the taxi ferries to visit other resorts, very nice and enjoyed some nice lunches/dinners and beers and wine!
We did the trip to Tirano, then the Bernina Express to St Moritz and back to Tirano and return to Lake Como, lovely day out!
Only eat at the station cafe in St Moritz though, a cafe/bar in the town prices are for lottery winners only!
It was a hot sunny day and the two pints of Lager sitting outside a bar in Tirano waiting for the evening Milan return train was like nectar!!!
Did find the Italian electric trains very eficiant, they are air conditioned but Italians dont like it so modern carriages with opening windows and the curtains blowing in the wind!! good for sticking ones head out of though to admire the scenery!!OH and the train toilets don't work either, well known for that.
Milan Station is like a Cathederal, built in the rein of a certain tubby little dictator!!!!!! but you seem to be able to get a train to anywhere in Europe from it though.
Must go again sometime.
Don.
What its Monday!! Again !!
