Weathered Trucks

The title may have thrown some of you off, this thread wont we be for Weathered Freight Car trucks, rather for Big Trucks like semis and such

Ill do one post per company, so that means when i weather a trailer and or cab for a company that has previously been posted, ill come back and edit that post and add the new truck in there and post an update to the posts that were updated with new pictures..... This should be fun and a long term project for me

Knight Transportation Trailer #8573

This trailer started out as a Athearn RTR 53' Wabash Duraplate Trailer. 2 Things were done to this trailer.

1. The landing gear on this trailer was cut and modified to be in the "up" position for use on the roads and highways. This will have to be only attached to a cab and not at a dock or on a train, the landing gear has been cut and it cannot be changed back. One of the downsides of the Athearn RTR trailers, they chose not to include to sets of landing gear, one in the "up" and one in the "down" would have been nice.... maybe they will change that, i hope so lol
2. The entire trailer has been weathered with Bragdon Weathering Powers. This includes the main body, the underside, the landing gear, the wheels and tires, and the rear bumper.

Here are some pics of this trailer lashed up to a new Mack CH 613 that i just picked up one-bay for $5.75























Knight Transportation Trailer #5937

This Trailer also started out as a RTR Athearn Wabash Duraplate Trailer. All that was done to this trailer was weathering with the Bragdon Weathering Powders. I left the Landing Gear in the "down" position. This trailer wont be used on the road, rather it will always be at a Building Truck Dock somewhere on my modules and layouts lol.

I also went ahead and weathered the landing gear, wheels and the rear of the trailer a little heavier then the last one just to make it a little different from the other. Here are some pics of #5937

Looks good, Josh. Don't worry about backing a trailer into a dock while hooked to the tractor. Most of the time a driver brings a trailer load in and backs up to a dock to have it unloaded, then gets the paper work signed and leaves to go to another dock and get a load to go somewhere else. Often trailers are left hooked up to the same tractor until they get back to the home yard for service.

Swift Transportation Trailer #530175

This trailer started out a freshly painted from the factory Athearn RTR 53' Wabash Duraplate Trailer. I used Bragdon Weathering Powders to weather the trailer. On this particular trailer, i only used black powder to weather it

Super job Josh. My compliments. One suggestion if I may-you may want to consider adding exhaust grime to the trailer sides.I think that would add a nice detail to your weathering job.
