Another Reinhard type photo, when Conrail still did the switching at Dock Street. A Conrail SW1200 picks up two box cars at Pier 7.

Gidday Bruce, good looking scene.
Well I’ve finished all ten cabins. 2285_ 2285_ 2285_ The eagle eyed will notice there are only eight, but two are already at the painters.

If there was a downside, it is that I’ve been volunteered to paint three. Nope
Cheers, the Bear. Smile

A pair of CNR F9's and the railways only Trainmaster have no problem with their tonnage as they head up the Stoney Creek Escarpment---no need for a helper on this train.

Last Friday at work I came across the last remnants of the Public Service railways freight operation in union city NJ. I have posted some pics of the former car barn ( Now used by the town's DPW ) a few years back. I should grab another round of pics of it as the building is set for demolition.

This is the siding that I found

That small section of track is the siding of The Yardley soap factory. Between 6th and 7th streets on Palisade Ave.

I did a quick search on youtube and found a few videos on this trolley line. In the first one only the first few minutes or so is from the PS system in union city, the rest is from elsewhere, But it does give you a good look at the NYC terminal in Weehawken NJ. The second video is all PS in the north end of Hudson county.

I scanned an old postcard that shows one of the trolleys in operation about two blocks from my company's shop.

A screenshot of a map of the location of the tracks, I had to shrink it down real small in order for it to fit in the 250kb requirement.

I know that I'm biased but I think the Canadian National had some great looking steam locomotives.Recently outshopped T4A #4300 looks like she should be on the head end of a passenger train rather than her regular assignment on the Leetown Division of hauling long strings of grimy hoppers from the GERN Bowyer Mines.

What? I am insensed Curse Curse are you implying we would ship grimy hoppers from a GERN facility. You know they are always 3% less grimy and the grime is invisible.

My apologies Charlie---you're absolutely right.I was quoting one of those exaggerated news stories that gets blown out of proportion by a reporter who is comparing those hoppers to shiny passenger coaches.Even that well used EG&E car looks 3% cleaner after a long term assignment at the mine.
