This sideshot summarizes the era that I model.  3 C628's at their end of life during the rainbow years (here 1978 in Collingswood).  Forlorn, beaten, worn, dirty.  Once the pride of the Lehigh Valley, stunning color scheme.... no more.

They were there in May of 1979 .

That's a cool shot, Charlie. Love how the LV herald is now the brightest thing on the locomotive.

Concrete is moving.  ACL 2-bay hoppers that have seen their fair share of use on the Erie Lackawanna and now in Conrail.

Been playing around with some three newly constructed paper models as a portion of my layout dedicated to Hazleton, PA.  Here's the lone C424 that the Pennsylvania bought pulling through the industrial area.  The three buildings are all courtesy of Clever Models.  Still in pink foam while I figure out the right orientations of all of the buildings!

Charlie, very surprised to see an SD80MAC on your layout Icon_e_surprised , but I love it! Applause Icon_e_biggrin

My layout is based in the 2006 time frame, making this an SD90/43MAC...

The purpose of submitting this "Sideshot Saturday" photo is to spur me on to make some progress on the Mud Run Curve here in the Lehigh Valley Gorge.  A couple of Saturdays ago I submitted two box cars rolling over the real Mud Run bridge.  Here's my incomplete version with a couple of Bachmann Spectrum SD45s in mint paint schemes rolling over my version of the Mud Run Bridge.  My goal by the holidays is to have these behemoths properly weathered and rolling over a semi-finished scene...  Until then, we have incompleteness...
