No Email notifications

I no longer get new post notifications through email. I checked all my settings and it appears fine of Blue and no blocks on gmail. Spam is clear too.
Any suggestions that I haven't tried?

Big Blue up/down 44 error issue

We seem to have an unknown issue with our server or software. We will occasionally go down with a "44" error for no reason. Sometimes it's just for a few minutes, today it went on for a few hours. Pat checks for issues and cannot find anything wrong and by golly, Big Blue springs to life once again. If we ignore the error, it doesn't seem to matter, Big Blue still comes back up on it's own. We suspect it could be that since we are on a shared server, someone else is hogging all the bandwidth. If we do that, GoDaddy will slap our wrists and tell us what bad people we are, so it's a mystery why we go down in the first place, and why we come back up without doing anything.

The point is, if you encounter a 44 error and can't access Big Blue, don't panic, just wait a few minutes and try again. It will eventually come back on it's own.

I have been having problems with the speed of viewing and uploading for the last several months. It is only on Big Blue. My internet speeds are over 300mb down and 29mb up so it isn't on my end. Any one else noticing this? I am asking because it may be comcast slowing this site down so I wnt to be sure before I complain to them.

Is there anyway to update the email address associated with my account? The address associated with my account is super old and I no longer have access to it so I’d really like to update it. And if possible, I’d like to change my username but one thing at a time here lol

Using "Big Blue Light"?

Just in case you missed it, we have a problem with our "Big Blue Light" mode. We have a total of 17 people using that mode, and when they post, they will get strings of HTML code (

) throughout their posts and PM's. You can avoid this by selecting the"Big Blue Dark" mode, (lower right on any screen).

We are sorry for any inconvenience, but it's the best we can do until we find out why.

We'll let you know when we've fixed the issue.

A few members have issues with HTML characters being added to their posts an PM's, so we are doing some testing here to see if we can pinpoint the source of the problem. If you are having this problem where extra characters are being added to your posts, such as:

Any Windows 11 users yet?

Just got an email from a member that has Windows 11 installed and now cannot log on here. Has anyone switched to Win 11, an if so, have they had any problems logging on here or anywhere else? We will do what we can, but neither me or Pat are able to install Win 11 because of that security chip issue, and I'm not sure we want to right now anyway based on the problems it's having. If it's a password problem, we may be able to fix that, but beyond that, I'm not sure what we can do.

Anyway, let me know if you have Win 11 installed and have had any issues here or anywhere else.

We are suppose to have RSS feed capabilities, I've never given it a thought since I've never used RSS anywhere, but apparently some folks are having problems with it and we don't know why. So, out of seeing how worthwhile this feature is, I'm taking this poll.

I searched in this forum but didn't find any posts about RSS issues. I first subscribed, about a week ago, to numerous forums using RSS. After a couple of failed attempts it seemed to work and they appeared in my RSS reader, NetNewsWire. However, I am not receiving new posts, since the initial downloads. I have deleted the subscription and subscribed again, actually twice. Any ideas why new posts aren't being added after the initial set-up? Thanks, Glenn

I was looking through the Side Shot Saturday post and noticed the dates of the posts are off. Last weeks posts were dated Thursday June 18. Now I know COVID and quarantine has messed with my sense of time but I know the posts were made on Saturday. I went back and checked a few other threads and the same thing appears to be happening. Is there an issue with the calendar?

We've been getting notices from Yahoo regarding their groups. Basically, what they're saying is that any posts after Dec 14 will be made via email only, and that any post content there will be deleted as of that date. I haven't a clue how that's going to work, but since we've only used our group in case this forum went down, let's just call our Yahoo group as abandon and not even try to use it. We're planning alternate means of communicating anyway, so just hang tight until we get that working.
