Recently, I posted fotoes of Western Pacific 3532, a GP40 that I built. It was the one WP unit that got yellow paint after the UP merger, but 'WESTERN PACIFIC' spelled out on the long hood, rather than UP lettering. It later went to WC by way of Gateway Western after lease turn back from UP and it was unfortunately, destroyed as WC 3015 in 1995 ina head on collision in Green Bay WI. It was the 2nd of 2 units, the other being a former WP GP40 itself, that collided with a yard job led by a WC SW1500. 3532 flipped over on its firemans side and was DESTROYED. The other two units were repaired and returned to service, but sadly, my favorite WP diesel was beyond hope. I was elated though to find this thread and see that at least the doors from 3532 were salvaged from the wreck to make another unit road worthy. Thanks guys, you made my day!
