While reading an ATSF forum I came across the web side of Keith Jordan http://www.patchrailroad.net/The_Patch/Patch_Home.html. Keith models an area in the south of LA somewhat north of Vernon between Alamada, 4.th and 7.th street called the patch. Beside the the fact that I think Keith builds a great layout and maintains a very well designed web page is the patch of interest for all Vernon-fans because it shows photos of industry in south LA before everything has been replaced with the modern concrete slab buildings currently dominating Vernon. It might be useful to get an impression about Vernon 40 years ago.
