I was just reading Model Railroad Hobbyist. There is an article in this months issue." Optimum layout size for Ops" After reading that I think it would be a mistake for me to try this. The reason I thought about it is my J&M short line doesn't see much action. I kind of thought it was wasted space so I was going to incorporate it into the C&O which sees a lot of action. The reason it sits a lot is because I can only run a limited amount of trains in the time I allow myself. This change wouldn't give me anymore time. I recently added a strip mine and another lever to my layout. I love making that mine run with the other minor stops involved. But I don't do it very often, I can only do so much. I could easily keep 4 or 5 guys busy for indefinite time on my layout. Time for a reality check. Time to finish what I am working on now. Run some trains and enjoy my empire.
