Ralph I don't know if they had horns or not. I assume they had at least 1 horn, but I did not check any pics. I just removed the cab and made the associated modifications, but I did not check any details or make any changes not related to the cab.

I'm not sure, but I think they would need to have horns for the hostler to use for warning people when the units were being shuttled around a yard or engine terminal.

Or even for back up moves. But..could the horns on the B unit be operated from the cab of an A unit?

I don't think the horns from one unit can be operated from another unit, but when they are coupled up in a consist, the horn in the A unit would loud enough to be adequate. The reason for a horn on the B unit is when it is being shuttled around the yard or engine terminal alone by a hostler.

After thinking about it I did some looking and haven't found a PC unit with a horn so far...

That doesn't mean the Baltimore and Potomac shouldn't have one, of course!

That is correct. The horn is not an MU function and can only be sounded from the cab of the unit it is on. The B units do have control stands inside the hood, F unit B units had them as well. I do believe there *should* be at least 1 horn, but I could be wrong.

Odd to me that there isn't a horn mounted somewhere. Of course you're right, the B&P shall have horns on their "B" units!!

*EDIT* I just looked through countless photos of Santa Fe GP7B and BN, BNSF, UP, and PRR GP9B units, and NONE of them had a horn shown. Maybe it was down under the pilot or something. Or maybe they just didn't have them? Ralph, I guess you are good to go!!!

I love that SW1. Who makes it? I need one, that is one of the few diesels the PM had prior to 1946.

Last night I was once again lucky enough to be a guest at Dale Latham's Peidmont Southern. He was kind enough to let me run some of my equipment but I only have one decoder equipped B&P loco, a GE 70 Tonner. Still, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to see one of my models traverse his beautiful railroad, so here are a few pics.
