I know there is a specific code in the CFR49 as I once had my engine cited for bolts that wer too long on those grabs. We're talking an excess of 1/2" here. But the FRA guy wrote it up.
You don't even want to know what I called him at the next family dinner for being so chickens--t.
I am getting ready to head to Texas tommorrow night, so my CFR49 is packed in my grip, otherwise, I'd look it up.
