An (almost) perfect running RS3

I put about 1/2" in an plastic ice-cream container, wear latex gloves, have a brush and sprinkle the cleaner on the body and start brushing it after one or two minutes until it's clean. The paint will fall off by itself. The brush speeds the process and saves cleaner.
After use I put it back with a cone into the can for multiple reuse.

CAUTION! it stinks like hell. Do it outside or in a very well ventilated room, keep the windows open, the door closed and ask your wife to visit her best friend!

Thanks, I appreciate the info.
Today is the oldest you have ever been, yet the youngest you will ever be!

I did another model today (SW1) and put semi gloss (had no gloss available) on the blue paint before the decals are applied. The dull coat showed similar white clouds up to 1/4' around the decals were Micro Sol was applied as with the RS3m.
I did a quick test with a large low cost dull coat rattle can I use to protect the water color on the buildings. It did not show the ugly white clouds.

The dull coat with the problem is MR Hobby http://gunplahobbies.files.wordpress.com...c_0060.jpg. It hates to be sprayed on top of Micro Sol.
The substitute from the home improvement market is not as dull, very close to satin, and it is much thicker easily covering details. Just good enough for large building fronts.

There is a moment in the life of a man when he knows he needs another RS3m. Mine is today Wink

Excellent progress Reinhard.

You will have to stop showing off RS3's etc, so far I've been able to resist buying one myself, as I have no use for it at the moment, but you're making it hard… Icon_lol

I bought a couple MDC RS3s years ago. It took replacing the junk trucks with real Athearn ones, and milling the floor out so the motor was in line with the worm gears, but it runs smoothly now. Just another alternative to a smooth runner.
