Good morning all, yet another day in the high 70's, cloudy and now only a 10% chance of rain.
I just saw an article in the news by Mike Rowe (Dirty Jobs) about the cost of education. The Arizona Board of Regents announced yesterday an increase in tuition for all Arizona colleges. Going to Arizona Sate will now cost an in-state student over $10,000 a year. I hate to tell them, but I went to Arizona State back in the 50's, and my first year tuition was just under $20 a semester, or $40 a year. We protested when they bumped that up to $30 a semester one year. Calculating for inflation, that still comes to around $720 a year in 2019 dollars. I guess it must be worth it, but Mike Rowe is right, I don't know how regular people can afford it, and this is a public university, I wonder what it costs to go to Harvard, MIT or Princeton.....
