Deleted...double post. My apologies.
Lynn, that looks great Thumbsup . I especially like the rocky river banks. Worship
Lynn,

Outstanding job on that river. I can imagine myself fishing on the banks.

Matt
Thanks Kurt and Matt .
I put some gravel along the shores and rocks in the middle. I'm not sure how the smaller gravel will look over the darker blue, any ideas?
Ready to pour I think.

Big improvement! I like it.
As far as the color goes. I don't think the river would be that blue. If it is a lazy river, it would probably tend more to browns and greens; and any rocks would tend to have algea growing on them any place where they were under water, also don't forget algea on the rocks near or under water on the banks. A fast moving stream would probably have a lot of rocks of various sizes and would pretty much be the color of the rock, since the water would be clear except for the foam where it tumbled over the rocks in the rapids.
Russ havou ever used the envirotex? I'm wandering what the depth of the envirotex pours will do to the colors , if they get more suptle ?I did sprinkle green along the shore and behind rocks in river will use gel to make current and current here and there.

I'm not sure. Back in @ 1968 I was involved in leadership of a children's craft club at my local church, and one of the items we did was casting plastic figurines and jewelry out of a clear two part plastic. It might have been envirotex. It seems to me that we had some translucent dyes that we could add to the material in the mixing process. I think brownish amber might tone down the blue quite a bit.
im pretty sure you can dye envirotex like russ said.im not sure what type of dye though. you could try an experiment by mixing in a little acrylic and see if that works.--josh
Thanks for info, I just completed the first and maybe last pour, I do have the dyes that you put in the envirotex , I used some blue green, after I worked with a bit more the blue was more of a navy blue then a brite blue I think the camera even with flash off grabs the colors and intensifies them. I also redid the other water area that I originally did with the ws stuff , that stuff sucked. The pour I did was 3 full clear plastic cups , the smaller ones and it gave me a good 1/8" depth throughout the entire river. I found that adding the sifted ballpark sand I keep on stand-bye worked really well along the shore along with the bigger ballast ( bigger) sized stuff. I found it was quite easy to move any small rocks that were in the deep out to the side with the flat ended popsicle stick I used for mixing. I also added some green bushes into the shoreline and some of my blended stuff. I also put our portable fireplace in the train room to keep the temperature up.
So far I'm quite happy and no leaks.
Checked on the envirotex this morning and was quite happy with the results although there will need to be some current added as it is just like glass. The details come through quite nicely. I don't think I would be any further ahead giving the river another pour although I beleive I could add more details into the river and repour without a problem, I think I got at least 1/8" if not more for depth. I also took a few pics of the old waterfall and creek area, all I did here before pouring the small lake uptop which I simply cleaned off the base and poured till it overflowed to run down the falls and then at the base I just cleaned the surface of the WS surface I poured last year , added a bit of sand and gravel, taped off the fascia opening and did the pour, this was also a good 1/8" or more.

It looks very effective Lynn, especially all the debris at the end, and the color of the rocks in the little pool above Worship
and I agree with you .... the camera sometimes does lie about the true color at times.

Do you use WS water effects to indicate any (slow or otherwise) movement in the river?

Hi Jack and thanks. I did use the ws water effects on the waterfalls but not in the river. I think once I put the upper river , which I'm thinking will be short in length to use the realestate for other things, I will probably use clear silicane to make the small waterfall. Hard to say right now. I'm also doing a bit of research again for backdrop and fill in the scenery along the wall behind the river I just poured, I'm thinking I might as well so I can get bridges put back in and run some trains.
Wow been quite a while, well summer flew by especially once I got another Harley. Here's the kind of stuff I managed to get done this fall.

And of course you didn't really think I was happy with all those mountains I painted for a backdrop. I spent the better part of the entire year researching new techniques and this is what I came up with.

And so now I move onto the structure building for this vision
