Reinhard---beautiful work---I'm sure Cookie Gibson is proud of the Gern facility
This is really coming along well, Reinhard. Thumbsup Thumbsup The industrial area is nicely complemented by the commercial/residential area, too, and your use of backdrop buildings is very effective. Very nice work. Goldth

Thank you all for the kind words.
The paint job of the Gern silos has been started today! It will become a beautiful green Gern company logo.... some day...

The last days have been used to care for the left hand foreground. The foreground shall be robust and survive the daily "super hand" doing uncoupling and sometimes does some unplanned "moves". I did therefor place robust DPM buildings matching the industry stile and removed fragile ice facility, trees etc. However, I'll see if I can find some robust bushes to be placed around the buildings.
The street has been moved too not to be so parallel to the layout borders.

This is "the gap" in the center. No buildings etc. are to be placed here. The track with my loved steamer is the programming track and the place where most engines enter the layout. It is also the place to inspect equipment. Therefor only flat grass and a simple road is possible.

Happy Easter to all if you Big Grin
WOAH! :o

Reinhard, you have accomplished an amazing amount of work in a short time. And it looks great. I especially like the huuuuuuge GERN facility with the various buildings and all the silos.

Your colors look good too. The lighter colored ballast and dirt make the layout stand out well. Your city backdrop on the right side blends in nicely with the buildings in front.

Overall, a wonderful job! Thumbsup
Those guys painting the silos - a very nice detail! Thumbsup
Cheers

Truly fast work, Reinhard, and it's turned out really well. The road on an angle is very effective and your choice of colours is perfect. As for the painters, they're giving me a bad case of acrophobia. Eek Wink Misngth

Thank you all for the kind words. I will do my best to proceed 2285_
Another part of the foreground has been done. Two more taxis are on the way.

The GERN plant must be 3% larger than any other building... Thumbsup

Beautiful work!
The last open space of the right hand foreground has been closed. The freight house got a ramp extension attached to match the radius of the tracks at that spot. Last untouched space is on the bridge in front of the room entrance at the very left end. That will be the next scenery to be build. I think of a railroad crossing on a bridge.
