....and doesn't it fit in well! Nice, Reinhard
Athearn Genesis UPY GP15-1 ex. MoPac are beautiful engines with a good drive. However UP runs all locals in SoCal with at least two engines, Atlas drives are still better, one Genset is a must in each of my trains and I do not need the pulling power of two engines. I made the GP15s dummies within 3 minutes and have wonderful silent trains Wink

The two-engine rule is generally true, but there are always exceptions:

A summary photo of my brick buildings constructed during the last two years..... bye bye brick...... Sad

Can you imagine how many square foot of buildings I had stored under, behind and everywhere in my small home office/layout room? It was a brutal requirement to do a clean cut!
Nothing to regret. I had hundreds of wonderful hours constructing and assembling the buildings. They fulfilled their purpose of a hobby excellent Smile

Reinhard, that's a bold and courageous act! We always keep too much for our own good, thinking it will be useful later. We got closets full of useless structures at the club layout... We should give them to other modellers who may find them useful again.

Matt
I like the blue Conrail engines so much I needed a loophole to continue to run some blue engines.
The Conrail MP15DC are the perfect object to cheat... one side is Conrail 1980 and the other side is GATX 2010.... You can run a leasing engine with some phantasy very universal Big Grin

The unique shaped brick structure between the curved tracks did not match into the Vernon area by any means. Google denies to show any matching prototype in and around Vernon. Leveled ground and a fence is a quick and dirty solution.

and my shortest UPY switcher combo. Lots of work for the tiny SW1500 with a dummy GP15 at the hook.

- and on it's way to the east industry

Looks a lot like the real thing!
Cornerstone had recently a reissue and special offer of the plastic pellet transfer facility. Those slim vertical tanks/silos are very common in Vernon and make a nice backdrop.

The old silos of the Cornerstone bakery got a place at the sun on the removable hatch. They and the build left are only put in place and must be removed when the hatch is opened for window cleaning etc. It is spring and I have foreboding what my little boss might plan ...

ps. Cornerstone did reuse their molds for the silos. They are exactly the same for both kits.
Watch out, the UP J yard is coming back soon on this layout

How do you clean your street running track?
Rscott417 Wrote:How do you clean your street running track?
With a standard track cleaner (a rubber block). The rail heads are above the street level.
