Thank you for the kind words
Great job as usual Thumbsup
It is surprisingly windy on my layout lately. Might be the mill is not in Cleveland Wink

The brick structure dominated layout give me an opportunity to run stuff I had stored away for some time.
Really nice transformation, love the GERN plant :-)
You also impress me with the speed of which all this comes together, are you sure you have no helpers in building all this?

I think this shows a very creative approach for people who have a wide range of interests, which Reinhard certainly seems to have! On a smaller layout, you can swap out structures and scenery. On a larger layout, you can have different areas with different scenery.

More photos, Reinhard!!
The flat freight houses at the west end are nice but more dominating structures provide a better impression of larger brick industry buildings. Thee Heljan brewery kit provides a nice set of brick walls well suited for kit bashing.

Those are big, looking forward what you will do with those! :-)

I like the long running front of the left building and did the basic glue job. Two wood sticks support the long wall and two shaped triangles support the corner. The roof is also supported by triangles.
The "tower" on the other side is not convincing at all. It may take some time to find a solution.

It is my dream to have a room large enough to have two "ISL" (SoCal/Northeast) connected with two pure scenic (Southwest semi desert/Northeast hills and forrest) parts and a large staging yard feed the layout.
But I admit even in that case I would swap structures etc. to glide on the timeline as I do today

Reinhard;
I'm also thinking about having a second (actually it would be a third) ISL, based on one of two prototype short line railroads that I'm familiar with and both only have two turnouts on them!

I also like your concept of switching structures, railroads, and timelines. I currently switch railroads when I operate my yet to be completed industrial branch (depends on which of the locomotives I want to use on an operating session), but the idea of changing industries and even era's is appealing.
The industry continues on the other side of the street. Therefor both street fronts should match while the backyard walls are plain. I will see if the buildings should be connected via a bridge over the road. That would emphasize the "one industry" impression.

That was exactly what I thought when I saw the pic and the revised building design. a covered walkway, or a walkway including some pipes and cable trays/ducts would work really well for this purpose. You could also do this with a covered conveyor, if loose materials such as grains or pellets are transported from one building to another.

Why have the high maintenance equipment?

Here's the way I would do that based on my industrial observations.

Raw material arrives by truck to the production plant, then the product is transfered to plant 2 for finishing by trailer pulled by a yard tractor.A lot of companies use this method since it cheaper then maintaining a mechanical system..

Did the window stuff today and added the bridge. Have to do a lot of little details and repair the badly hampered ground cover over the next days.
The right building is on the hatch at the location where I put my hand to remove it. It is therefor only "put" in place and the bridge also only put in between the buildings. The left building will be fixed when all is set final.
I read Breakies comment and do agree but the bridge is an important visual element on my layout forming one industry. The right hand building looks somewhat strange without the visual connection.
