On the other side of Orange Mill the track turns South again and goes through New Lisbon. Here is an overview shot, the section is 2' wide and 7'long.



First thing you come across is the feed mill and some line shacks.

The next section I will be working on is an area between the towns of New Lisbon and Mauston. I will hold a small trailer park against the backdrop and an abandoned farm scene. I have all the track in and wired. The cork will be a road and track weathering is started.

Track and ties weatherd, the wood road crossing is in and currently working on the trailer park. The two end trailers are a City Classic kit cut in half the other two will be scratchbuilt, one is done.

Nice little trailer park you have there. good use of space using them as pseudo building flats. Some trees and a driveway and other assorted details will really make this a great place to park for the night.

The park is there in real life and I knew I wanted to add it without taking up a lot of space. I think it should look alright after all the details are in.

The ballast is done up to the road and the scenery has been started.



the toothpick will grow into an oak tree and I will add a few pines as soon as I make them.

David's rule of ballasting: as soon as you get the track fully ballasted, your wife will decide to move house.

I used to dread ballasting but for some reason I've enjoyed doing the home layout this time around.Funny thing is next April I will be un ballasting as I rebuild to a much smaller layout.This is going to be one crowded room with 3 layouts,1 furnace ,1hot water heater ,a work bench and my computer.
