I like how you are able to work from one scene to the next in an orderly manner, not jumping around doing some here and some there. The continued progress is very encouraging and is really motivating for someone like me who likes to jump around WAY to much.

Looks like the MILW needs to run more often on that portion of the railroad, there seems to be a tree that has grown up in the right of way.

I did get the ground cover a rock out croppings done.



now to make about 5 or 6 trees.

You know that farm house would make a good "Fixer Upper", it just needs some window panes and a lick of paint, and a patched roof out the back and its good to go. That shed behind the out house looks in pretty good nick too.
Unfortunately the barn looks only good for firewood. Might need a goat or two on a chain to work on the long grass.

That tree on the railroad tracks, was that a local Irish St Patrick's Day prank perhaps?
Did it fall off the back of a landscapers truck crossing the tracks on the way to a job?
Or maybe it was some Irish landscapers carting it to a job, who were a little worse for wear after St Paddy's Day and didnt miss it when it fell off at the crossing.

I have been asked about that tree a lot over the years, a few know the story. About 17 years ago I was building a different layout, I was planting trees on a mountain side when my youngest daughter came up to me with that nasty tree and said she would give it to me to plant on my trains. I took the tree and planted it on that layout. When the layout came down about 15 years ago I kept the tree and have been using it to mark the end of each scene I was modeling. When I get to the end of the layout (if I ever do) I will replant that tree in a spot of honor, that tree has kept me modeling all these years. So that's the story of the nasty little tree, I know it looks bad but it means the world to me.

Cant argue with a great little story like that, now can we!

Does your daughter remember giving you that tree and or recognise that tree?

Funny the things that kids can give you that end up meaning so much.

Maybe the question should be; Do you want or need to remember what you had for breakfast this morning?
I mean most of us have the same thing everyday so you only really need to remember what you had for breakfast if it was significant.
The main thing is to remember to have breakfast and then remember that you have had breakfast today so you dont keep eating breakfast all day long.
