Greetings, gang.
It's a sunny 55 degrees at the moment after an overnight low of a bone chilling (comparatively speaking) 41. Saturday's high was 90. Yesterday's high was 70. Fall has definitely fallen.
Went to a football game for one of the great-grandsons yesterday and other than a rather cool breeze at time it was pleasant. Otherwise not much accomplished yesterday. This morning has been busy. Apparently according to my credit card statement I spent a night in Memphis, TN earlier this month. I hope I enjoyed it. A call to the credit card company and all has been resolved. A new card is on the way.
All stay safe.

Good morning all.
Just got back from a 2 week road trip loop in Colorado. Rode the Durango & Silverton, and took the Pike's Peak Cog RR train to the top. Both of them worth the money, and the scenery over 1400 miles of windshield was just stunning.
My prior knowledge of narrow gauge and mining in Colorado was only superficial. Particularly interesting was the whistle signaling between the double-headed locomotives.

Hello Blue
Home from wife's PT, I dropped her off and went to Great Clips. Had it cut short, feels good. Got sad news from our daughter yesterday, the 23 year-old from next door crashed his Corvette and died at the scene. This was his third and last accident. He just liked driving fast. We are happy that our grandsons wouldn't ride with him. They are bummed out over his death though. I watcher football over the weekend, did little else.

Good morning.
We have rain this morning but it won't ne enough to soak the ground.
I had a call from my friend that made the trip from Calgary to Mexico City. It was interesting. He said he ran the locomotive about 40 percent of the time. He says it is an impressive locomotive. It was equipped with PTC too, a very expensive add on. The crew was not allowed off the train in Mexico except to perform maintenance. He said the track in Mexico was as good as the high speed track on the corridor.
He said the railroad treated them like Kings. I hope he writes an article about his trip. A once in a lifetime experience.
He also told about meeting an old timer that was maintaining these locomotives when CP operated them daily. He said they did 14000 miles a month so even this trip was 2/3 of normal monthly duty spread over 72 days. Fastest they ran was 80MPH.
I think I got my medication figured out. I was getting leg cramps so bad that I would hit a pain level of 10 with my muscles knotted the size of a soft ball. At first I blamed it on the new arteritis drugs but after discontinuing them I still had the cramps. I discontinued the inhaler that was new for the COPD and that seems to be what was causing it. Now I need to build the strength back in my legs. Worst part is I don't have a bit of trouble breathing and I will not buy into the COPD. I think that is an automatic diagnosis if you ever smoked.
Have a nice week my friends.

I am trying to locate a 15 inch gauge live steam locomotive that my deceased friend donated to a group in Pennsylvania. I sent Live Steamer a private message but there is no way to send him photos from my collection. I can't remember the name of the group. If anyone can help please let me know.

VA got screwed out of 800$ for the heart monitor that malfunctioned the co said that there is no refund guess I'll let the VA battle it out with them. On the brighter side i got the blades for my aged jig saw (saw still is the kind that with blades that use a set screw) i use it to shake paints, guess the saw is like outdated like me. started to do some modeling now that the hands work better hope the meds keep working.
anyway, stay safe and warm or cool witch ever applies Jim.

Good evening Blue.
It is 71 degrees and light rain here. Gas was 3.059 when I filled the car today. We got over an inch of much needed rain and we could sure use more.
I finally tried my hand at adding some static grass and it really looks great. I am very happy at the realism that the affect has.
I also finally managed to glue my finger and thumb together with super glue and by golly, they were really stuck . I had a syringe full of acetone on the desk that I had used to clean a paint brush and luckily it dissolved the glue.
Tomorrow is the mid week bogdown already.

Greetings, gang.
51 and partly cloudy going to around 80 later on.
A decent workout at the gym yesterday followed by a fun filled afternoon of raking leaves. This morning I'll dispose of the leaves but otherwise stay home. Picked up some kind of germ. Sore throat, congestion, general aches, and chills. Don't need to spread this around so I'll stay away from everyone.
Gas was down to $3.02 yesterday.
All stay safe.

Hello Blue
Well nothing going on here. However, There was a wake yesterday for our daughter's neighbor's son. He wrecked his Corvette and died at the scene. My wife is doing pretty good, had PT yesterday and then walked with me through Aldis. All their prices have taken noticeable increases. Oh my gosh. the price of eggs was $3.97, when I asked about that I was told that's what the local suppler said to price them. Talk about price gouging. WOW. They had a sign that said "limit 6". Sorry no train news.

Good evening folks
Despite taking the day off to recover from our cruise today has been hectic. I was able to sleep in late then the chaos started. We have been unloading suitcases and doing vacation laundry. We had to run out to UPS and drop a package off and then Kohls for a couple of Amazon returns. I did get to fiddle some with the layout, and I hope to more this weekend. Not sure what I will do. Just go with the flow. Gas prices on our jaunt today were $2.87 to $3.35.
Weekend involves finishing unpacking and working on vacation laundry. We need to run to the produce store, grocery store, and PetSmart. Tomorrow is our 33rd Wedding Anniversary. Nothing special planned. After a week of cruise dinners, we are tired of fancy restaurants. Sunday is my daughter’s birthday, and she wants cheese steaks sandwiches from our favorite steak place. We may take a trip out to Linvilla Orchards which is a combination market, nursery, nick knack shop, and working farm. If the weather permits, we want to put up the outside Halloween decorations.
On the layout I have some things to put away. I want to run some trains. Perhaps I will build a couple of rolling stock kits. I may even do some ballasting. I also have passenger station platforms to build to replace the floor strike damaged ones.
I hope everybody has a good evening.

Good Monday morning to ya all, I hope you all had a great weekend. As for mine, I stayed home, only going out to get something to eat. We are in a "weather action day", as the channel 15 weather soothsayers put it. Saturday it hit 117, each day this week will shatter the old records as far as high temps and low temps. We only dropped to 86 as a low. Not complaining after seeing what's going on back east with Helene, just reporting the facts. It will be two weeks before we start seeing normal temps.
Gas is low, I did see a Circle K with a cash price of $2.99, lower than Costco and Sam's...
Anyway, have a great week, stay safe....

Good morning folks
It is currently 64 heading up to 71.
It was rough getting up and heading to work after a week off but I made it. Not much happened last week as the contractor seems to be avoiding items on the critical path. At this rate we will most likely be out here until early 2025.
We had a lazy weekend recovering from our cruise to Bermuda. We got home Thursday and after the drive from Bayonne I began unpacking starting with the dirties and throwing them in the washer. Friday was more unpacking and laundry. Friday, we made a run to the post office and to Kohl’s for Amazon returns. Saturday was our 33rd wedding anniversary. We did nothing special. Went to the produce store, grocery store, and PetSmart. Dinner was ham sandwiches and chips. We had our fill of fancy restaurants and dinning on the cruise. Sunday was my daughter’s birthday. My wife and her went to Linvilla Orchards and I went searching for a strawberry shortcake for my daughter, When no strawberry shortcakes were found she requested a carrot cake. Her dinner request was cheesesteaks from our favorite place, Leo’s Steaks in Sharon Hill.
On our ventures we saw gas prices from $2.79 to $3.34.
I ran trains on and off all weekend. I did some organizing of rolling stock. I inventoried some new acquisitions.
Today I need to make a run to the pharmacy and possibly the grocery store. I need to figure out what to make for diner before I, however. Tonight, will be more vacation laundry and unpacking. I hope to run some trains and perhaps work on the replacement station platforms and/or some rolling stock kits.
I hope everybody has a good day.

Hello all -
Took my 7 year old to a train show last weekend. He wanted N scale stuff - we found him a locomotive and 3 cars for pretty cheap.
I found a Mantua Pacific and a Mantua GP20 for $5 each.
The Pacific runs, the GP20 has all its parts, but the plastic wheels are cracked. Will need to purchase some new wheels from NWSL and I should have a good runner.
