Greetings, gang.
More smoke and warm temperatures scheduled for today. Currently 63 with a scheduled high of 89. Rain tonight and tomorrow will bring the temperature down to a high of 61 for tomorrow. Then 70s for the rest of the week.
Yesterday was successful as far as my new computer was concerned. I solved the problem with the NAS drive and found a free program that makes
Win 11 work more like Win 10. Now it's just a matter of moving the remaining items over from the old computer and getting the old one set up for visitors. Only frustration now is the new keyboard is very slightly different from the old one so there's a lot of mis-typed words at the moment. On tap for today are a trip to the gym and maybe a bike ride. I also need to pick up a game for my granddaughter's family and stock up on Powerade.
All stay safe.

Greetings, gang.
60 going to 57. A stray front will wander through at some point today and drop the temperature after the rain has stopped. So far a half inch in the official rain gauge for the world. Mid 70s for the rest of the week.
What started out to be a rather mundane day turned out pretty nice. Got back from the gym and saw a missed phone called. Called my daughter back and received an invitation to lunch with her and one of my great-granddaughters. Game on! Had a very pleasant time with both of them. Nothing much on the agenda for the day until this evening when there are a couple more ball games at 5:30 and 7.
Gas continues to drop. Down to $2.69 this morning.
All stay safe.

Greetings, gang.
Clear-ish and 52 this morning. The clouds and rain are gone but the smoke from Canada remains. Scheduled high for today is the mid 70s. Got another 3/4 inch of rain yesterday for a 24 hour total of an inch and a quarter of much needed moisture.
Due to the rains the baseball games were canceled last night but so far today's game at 11 is still on. Due to the time of the game I'll have to go to the gym after I get back. Normally I go about 10:30 when there are very few people. I'll try after lunch. Also need to put fertilizer on the yard. Nothing else planned for the day.
Gas jump to $3.09 overnight.
All stay safe.

D-Day, the 6th of June , gang.
Clouds and a chance of rain off and on through the weekend. Looks like the NWS is having an accuracy issue. Earlier in the week we were promised some really pleasant weather for the weekend. Nothing new there. High in the mid 70s through the weekend.
Wednesday's ball game got cancelled but yesterday's game was a lot of fun. More games today in yet another town, this time about 45 minutes away. Tomorrow I'll be heading to Des Moines for my great-granddaughter's graduation party. Then on Sunday is confirmation for one of my great-grandsons. Busy weekend.
Our very generous gas stations dropped the price of gas a whole penny overnight. Yesterday it was $3.06 and according to gas buddy this morning it's down to $3.05. This after raising the price on Wednesday by 40 cents.
All stay safe.

Good afternoon folks
My computer time the last week or so has been very limited. I transfer job assignments and I am now working on the eastern PA Turnpike on demoing the toll booths. We currently do not have a key for our office. Even if we had a key there is no furniture or internet. Right now I am working out of my car and it is not easy to get online. The last few evenings I had household things keeping me busy. I am hoping to get some train time this weekend.
I hope everybody has a good day.

Hi Tom,
Why are the toll booths being removed?
Just wondering. We don't have them out West.
Hope your day is going great.

Hello Blue.
Toll booths are on the way out. Camera's pic your license plate, then they send you a bill. It's putting lots of people out of work and sometimes, someone gets a bill that was never there. No special news, the weekend was quiet for us, had a lot of wildfire smoke from Canada. Not sure what todays gas price is, last time out it was $3.19.

Last time we came back from NYC we found that there were no toll booths on the section from NYC to ???. There were signs telling us to phone someone, but we went by too fast to write it down. Couldn't find anywhere to buy a transponder.
We did get a bill -- i think we paid by Visa.
We have a fully ETR (Electronic Toll Route) across Toronto. There is a major bill addon for not have a transponder. As well, the toll for the stretch across Toronto is higher than the whole length of the NY Thruway. You have been warned.

Greetings, gang.
51 and hazy/smoky this morning in the remote reaches of northern Iowa. Low to mid 80s for most of the upcoming week.
I spent Sunday and yesterday recuperating after a week of travel. Longest day was Saturday when I drove to Omaha and back for a graduation party. Today I have a day off from family events but I do need to hit the grocery store for supplies. I did get the lawn mowed yesterday but that was the only physical activity.
Gas was $2.89 yesterday but jumped 3 cents overnight.
All stay safe.

I just received 2 emails from Zealot. Does anybody here still use it? I gave up when it became just too much irrelevant stuff to wade through.

Well, it is early Wednesday morning here. I just watched a movie and thought I would check in.
My wife is doing a whole lot better and I can leave her for half hour periods now. She is trying to do some housework and it is enough that it does give me a break. I realize I never did enough to help her so I guess pay backs are in order.
Big day for the trains, I printed out some decals and sprayed them with clear. I needed number board decals for the C40-8s that I am putting together. Conrail used white boards with black numbers.
I had a nice chat with Deano the other night and I talked to Wayne last week. I noticed Wayne is slipping a little more each time I call him. He is still very coherent but has trouble remembering names of things while we are talking. If anyone has a mind a few prayers would be helpful.
I am getting some strength back but still have a way to go. I started taking a drug 10 days ago that is readily available but not exactly doctor prescribed and I am really feeling the difference. I seem to be getting my stamina back that I haven't had in years. I hope it keeps up but I am finding walking to be easier.
I finished the decoder install in one of the C-40s yesterday and I had everything mixed up. It was an easy fix but I put some wires wrong that I should have known better. I will do the next 2 right the first time.
We had a nice day here today and tomorrow is supposed to be nice too. If so I will mow.
Good evening and good day to all.

Greetings, gang.
Another hazy/smoky morning underway. 62 now and the NWS has scheduled a high of around 90 and a moderate chance for some thunderstorms this evening.
Fairly quiet yesterday. Got the fridge stocked up again and took a 12 mile bike ride. Got a phone call last night from my son that I've been dreading for years. My granddaughter's chemo is losing its effectiveness.
David - I got those emails also. I found it appropriate that the top level domain name is lol.
All stay safe.
