Greetings, gang
32 and clear in the remote reaches of northern Iowa this morning. We are scheduled to add another 25 degrees to that total by this afternoon. Similar conditions for tomorrow.
Fairly quiet day yesterday. Trip to the gym and then drop off some clothes at the men's shelter. I may need to replace the dryer. It seems that it keeps shrinking my clothes. Another explanation is that I'm going through a growth spurt in my second childhood. Late afternoon I went to a basketball game for one of the great-grandsons. His team won 64-4.
It's Saturday so that means certain activities are pre-scheduled. Laundry will top the list this morning and college football will be watched this evening. In between I'll be rounding up another herd of leaves and heading them off to the disposal site.
The oil companies must have realized that the 37 cent increase earlier this week was excessive and have very generously rolled back the price - by a whole 2 cents. They must be feeling generous as the Christmas season approaches.
All stay safe.

Hello Blue
11/22/25. Saturday. I sure remember 11/22/63 a sad day in the USA.
We have sun with a hi of 45 today. Waiting for the usual nonsense to get over with so we can see the Buckeye game.
I went to the clubhouse last night, it was pup car night, saw a lot of beer trailers. LOL Ah the game has started. Go Buckeyes.

Greetings, gang.
31 very dark degrees this morning. Supposed to get to the mid 50s later. Then rain tomorrow and much colder for the rest of the week.
The laundry was completed in an orderly fashion. Leaf herding was a different story. Long before the task was completed my back was really hurting. Normally I have some stiffness but this was downright uncomfortable and had me bent over by the time I was finished. Part of the problem was that the leaves were still wet from the rain earlier in the week. Oh, well. Feeling better today. This morning I'll watch the F1 race from Las Vegas. After lunch I'll be putting away my summer toys and getting out the winter toys. Also included will be to change the oil and lube the auger on the snow blower. Maybe that preparation will keep the snow away for a while. I may also try to get in one last bike ride.
Apparently the big oil companies must have read my sarcastic post yesterday about gas prices as the price has dropped another 8 cents, down to $2.79.
All stay safe.

Greetings, gang.
45 and cloudy headed for the low to mid 50s with some light rain on the way.
All activities went off according to plan yesterday although I did trim back the bike ride from 12 to 7 miles because the wind started to pick up. This morning I need to get the plastic on the windows around my office before the ground gets soggy from the rain. Also want to get it done before it turns much colder on Wednesday. This evening is a Christmas concert for one of the great-grandsons.
Gas continues to drop - down to $2.72 this morning.
All stay safe.

Greetings, gang.
47 going to 50 for a while then dropping to the low 40s by lunch time. When it drops below freezing tonight it won't be back at least until sometime next week.
Got the plastic up around the windows after a brief delay to replace one of the plastic sheets. A trip to Menards and Walmart revealed that a surprising number of people are out and about spending money. Both stores were much busier than usual. I also stopped at Hobby Lobby, Marshall's and a grocery store.
Last week I ordered some new sofa pillows in a color that complemented my redecorating. What arrived yesterday were sofa pillow covers. Went back to the web site and sure enough I had misread the description. Fortunately the covers were the correct size and all is well. New curtains for the front door arrive today. Also yesterday I realized that the concert is next Monday. At least I didn't have to drive a half hour to the school to discover that.
Another weird dream last night. Going to Chicago with my daughter-in-law and stopped in Des Moines for dinner. Took excessively long for food to arrive so we walked out and decided to go visit my grandson and his wife. Instead of getting the address from my DIL who phoned him she tried to relay turn by turn directions. Called my grandson and got the street address (222 Riverside) Wound up following my gps through a field instead of following the road which would have taken us right to the house. On the way my DIL informed me that my grandson's wife would not be there but another woman would be. Seems the two ladies were taking turns living with him. We got to his house which was in a grassy field with a few other very small houses that were available for rent. The whole area was surrounded by trees and the river was nearby also and could be seen through the trees. Then his wife came out of the house and hugged me (never did find who the other woman was). That's when I woke up.
Gas down some more this morning - $2.69
All stay safe.

30 degrees with 30 mph winds and a few flurries. Overnight the winds hit 49 mph. The temperature is going into a deep freeze and won't reemerge until at least some time next week. There's a potential for some heavy snow this weekend.
Yesterday was pretty quiet. Went to Walmart for some beer and a new watch among other things. Told the cashier that I needed the watch to know when to drink the beer. After that I fired up my trust space heater and sat on the porch until the wind started to pick up. Today is pie backing day. Otherwise just general cleaning and routine household chores. Also need to paint the stairwell. Not sure when I'm going to do that.
All stay safe.

Hello Blue
Cloudy, windy, rainy. Temp is 40 and falling. Blizzard warning for northern Michigan. Lake affect snow to the west. Tiss that time.
My wife wanted the Christmas tree up so that and the fixins were brought out yesterday. Tomorrow will be a Lions game and dinner at our daughter's house.

Happy Thanksgiving, gang.
17 degrees and clear at the moment with a high near the freezing mark. Winter weather watch already posted for the weekend. That will change to at least a winter storm warning if not a blizzard warning starting Friday night. Current prediction is for as much as 16 inches of snow by Sunday. Glad I got the snow blower ready earlier this week.
Yesterday went from disappointing to frustrating. Mad the pumpkin pie but I forgot the sugar. I'm guessing I forgot something else as the pie is a tasteless mess. Also wound up having to replace all the plumbing under the kitchen sink. I couldn't get one of the basket strainers to seal properly. Also the pipes wouldn't line up so I wound up having to break the tail pipe on the p trap that goes into the wall. For whatever reason it simply would not move. Finally gave up for the day about 5 yesterday afternoon. I'll start on it again later this morning. No other plans for the day.
All stay safe.
