I would counter that by saying that Model Railroading is a broad church and he is enjoying his version of the hobby in his own way.
Take a look at some of his other videos and you will see that he is pushing the boundaries of how long a model train you can make.
Now who amongst us hasnt tried to make the longest train that it was possible to fit on a layout?
My son aged 9, has done the same sort of thing when playing with the ez track and HO trains and ended up pushing the limits of the power pack and track power continuity.
These sort of possibilities are one of the reasons I decided to go with the ez track system when buying model trains that I knew my son would get to play with. The flexibility offered by the system is great for "play and pack up" but also for developing and changing layout configurations. It also offers the same possibilities for ease of change when building more serious layouts.
