It's 1976 and here's a sample of glory of the rainbow years. A U25B leads a pair of C628's over the White Haven Bridge. The GE (EL) unit and the former Penn Central units are resplendent in their "CR" patches. The paint crew doesn't have the heart to touch the Cornell Red on the former LVRR unit who's still running with it's original roster number.
TMo,
Nice job on the bridge piers. Are they pre-formed and you colored them, or did you have to construct them? Glenn
Glenn,
Those started out life as green blocks of Styrofoam (3" thick from a 4x8 sheet). The construction is buried in this blog entry (consolidated Mud Run and White Haven RR Bridge development)... Let the hardscape begin! (morristhemoosetm.wixsite.com). I cut them to rough size, hand cut the slopes with a Japanese dovetail saw, spackled them, etched the blocks and then painted.
