I got the whiskey testing part the first time I read the story, but I guess having the dead woman being named Mrs Jones and the Sheriff named Jones did not strike me as any more significant or funny than "on her way home late Saturday night" vs "accident happened at 6 pm", or having the accident happen on "W South Street" when the lady apparently lived on "S West Street".
Also, I just don't have all that much sense of humor about DWI deaths any more. I guess I've seen the aftermaths of too many accidents caused by impaired drivers.
Sorry about raining on your joke. But an A for effort.
