The boarded up building. The dead tree. The remains of a foundation of a water tank.
The burned out remains of a trestle. The sunk and decaying boat or ship. The remnants of an old stone wall fence.

Little modeled, little noticed, but history none the less. Our scenes need a little "history", to look more natural. One of the most impressive details I've seen on one of the modules in the modular group I'm associated with, is a large tree, fallen some years ago, just about gone, but still recognizable as a once great tree.
