WOOHOO! Good weather = time to build
Russ, thanks for the tip on the editing.

TN, all I have ever found over here at HD is the 3/4" pink foam. I went ahead and bit the bullet and bought the 2" foam today. Even though it was expensive, I have what I need now, so no more stress or worry over that... nothing but building the layout now! Sometimes it pays to just cough up whatever they are asking and then forget about it. I've spent several hours online trying to track down foam dealers in Houston with no positive results. We just don't use that much insulation foam compared to other places.

CharlieB, I am mainly using the 2" foam because it is easy to "dig" ditches and drainages and bayous and everything... and that is what we have down here in Houston which is what I am modeling. Everything seems very flat, but there are plenty of features that go below the flat surface. It's easy to carve a deep ditch in the 2" foam. I still use cork roadbed on top of the foam thogh. My method is definitely not the cheapest, but it works.
