I also hope the surgery goes smoothly & that you'll have a very fast recovery. Maybe you could get someone to help with your computer use as well as MRR? That is, maybe you could give instructions to a friend or colleague, who would be willing to help? Just a thought!
My Dad used to do this for an elderly man who was a live steam modeller. When this elderly man's eyesight deteriorated to point where he could no longer model, my Dad would visit him -- he would then "use my Dad's eyes" to do his modelling while he gave him instructions!
