Was finally able to catch NS 8101 after it had made at least 6 round trips over the "Rat Hole" pulling grain trains, and usually as a trailing unit. If we'd stayed a few more hours yesterday, we'd have seen the Reading and Erie units pass through too, although the light would have been about gone by then. So here are a few of the shots I took of 8101:
Arriving in Danville yard, as luck would have it, the sun ducked behind a cloud, but got perfect shot with not so perfect light:
The decision was made by the YM to fuel the engines south of the yard, so we headed down to that location and I got these shots in perfect light, but less than desirable point of view:
*** UPDATE ***
Here's a video of NS 8101 as train 60A leaves Danville http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SW4PHqL3UGM Sorry about that annoying squeaking sound you hear as the train passes and don't know what it was other than perhaps it had to do with the new welded rail they recently installed.
