Yeah, this exact photo was posted in my Potomac Line thread, I was talking about manually assisting the loads out of open hoppers. Shorpy has such a wonderful selection of super high resolution images, they are great for 1950's rolling stock. Several nice shots of C&NW yards. In some images you can see guys riding the roofs and such.
