I'm so sorry to see this, my thoughts go out to his family.
The modeling community lost one unique soul that will be deeply missed.

Sad to hear of RB's passing...
The last news we had did not sound good.
He's in a better place now.
RIP Running Bear...

Very sad indeed. I will miss him.
I admired his work and his willingness to help other modelers.

I am sad to see this news. He always could recombine equipment into something unique and interesting!

I think I may have to do something to memorialize him. Maybe we can start a thread here? Not sure what I want to do, but here are some ideas:
- create a functioning locomotive from the parts of two or more basket cases. F units, especially.
- weather some equipment to look like real rust buckets
- a "patched" paint job
- perhaps make a model of his cursed van and place it on your layout.
other ideas?

How about a tank car of Tabasco sauce, with Running Bear lettering and Midland Gulf / L&A markings?

That wasn't news I wanted to read when coming back to the forum after a few weeks of a hectic life...
Rest In Peace 'Running Bear', and hope you have a lot of fun with the great big layout in the skies!

I am truly sorry to read about Running Bear's passing. Like so many others, I enjoyed his enthusiasm for his layout.
