I'm Back
#1
Hello Everyone,

It has been quite sometime since I've been here. Life caught up with me and things happened to where I needed to take some time off. It has been so long since I was last here I couldn't remember my log in and had to have it reset. LOL, Over the past year though things have changed yet again in my life as me and my girlfriend welcomed our baby girl Faith Noel Miller into this world. There isn't enough time in the day to sit here and explain everything that has happened in the past few years. Although over the past year I have been collecting HO Scale trains again and getting my collection back up as all my trains from before were stolen. I've been collecting more B&O stuff than Pennsy stuff lately as I am finding the B&O more interesting at this time. But anyways, I hope all is well here and everyone is doing good. Now it's time for me to go and catch up on everything and see what I have all missed in the nearly 8 years that I was away.

Welcome back, Matthew, and congratulations on Faith Noel. Life has a funny habit of getting in the way of our plans but it all works out eventually. Any plans for a layout yet?

Welcome back Matthew. Some of us are still hanging around.
It sounds like you are getting back to speed. I look forward to your contributions.

Thank You. As of right now there are no plans for a layout. I'm still in the process of gathering everything up that I need. You're right how life can get in the way of things, but I'm back now and glad to be here again.

Thank You. That's good that some of you are still hanging around. I know a few things have changed and some are not with us anymore.

Welcome back to Big Blue, Matthew, and also to fatherhood.

My kids were never much interested in model trains, but several of my grandkids were, or still are, interested.

Sorry to hear that your trains were stolen, particularly when current prices have risen severely from what they used to be.  While in many ways they're a lot better, it's still possible to find older stuff at decent prices, and then simply upgrade them somewhat.  I seldom buy the high-end stuff, as I prefer to re-work older stuff with better details, and better paint and lettering, too.
I think that you'll settle in nicely, and get back in you groove with a fresh start.

My one daughter is interested in trains. I'm hoping it stays that way but if it doesn't then that's ok also. Yes it does suck my trains were stolen but I remember most of the stuff that I had and I'm searching for it. It feels like I haven't left but I know there were some changes and we lost a few people, especially the ones I got to know so well from being here all these years.

Glad to see you after all these years, things have changed a bit, but then again, not all that much. Congrats on your daughter, as the others have said, it stinks about your trains.

Thank you guys. It sure is nice to get the warm welcome back. I have settled back into things here as I was up late last night posting pictures. It's like I never left.
