The Hobo Camp Fire Is going well #X.. Stop In!!!
Sunday 7/14
Hello blue
Yes food packaging sure has shrunk. You name it, you get less at a higher price. I'm waiting till a dozen becomes 10. Hot dogs used to be longer than the bun, not anymore.
High of 90 for the next few days. Again I say for us that's hot. Was in Vegas one time when it was still 105 at midnight.
Got some errands to do next week but nothing for today.

Good afternoon folks

It is 90 heading up to 93. The predicated one and a half inches of rain yesterday was a bust. I think we got a trace.

The wife and I had an enjoyable drive through Valley Forge National Park yesterday. We were going to try a new restaurant in King of Prussia. It replaced one of our favorite places. This would have been our first visit there but when we arrived we found it closed permanently. It last about 18 months. I inventoried some rolling stock I got at a clearance sale and a coupe really cheap kits from eBay.

Not much planned for today. Need to run to PetSmart and the grocery store. I plan on running trains and working on the layout,

David, my daughter thanks you for the tip on the Sir John Soane's museum. She went there today and thoroughly enjoyed it.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Tom: It's easy to miss out on as it doesn't get a lot of publicity. My father told me about it.

Good morning all, and welcome to Monday. Got woke up around midnight with a cell phone notification. Turns out it was a sever weather alert. My doorbell camera even tripped from lightning but not a drop of water on the ground. Turns out that the storm hit the entire valley, but it rained everywhere except along US60, that's where I live.

I finally found the wiring issue on my layout, a bad solder joint. Now all I need is two hands to do the soldering, and a third to hold the relay socket, all with arms about 6" longer than mine.

Charlie, I got my Epson ecoTank printer running yesterday. A really nice printer with a huge amount of ink. I checked the dimensions before I bought it to be sure it would fit in the space that the old printer was in. Just one issue, they don't take in account that the paper feed is external and adds about 6"to the height. Setup took a while, downloaded all the drivers and updated the firmware, but the printer and scanner both worked flawlessly from the get-go.

I hope that everyone is looking forward to a productive and fun week. Enjoy and stay safe....

Good morning folks

It is an uncomfortable 81. High will be 97. Humidity is at 83% which makes it feel tropical.

We had a nasty thunderstorm roll through just as I was coming out of the grocery store. It was the only significant rain we had all weekend. The predicated inch and a half of rain never materialized. The wife and I ran to PetSmart, Michaels and the grocery store. I did some laundry.

I ran trains. I reorganized a couple of bins that the rolling stock is stored in. I am not sure my current method of organizing which is by car type is working. I have a feeling there is a better way to do it. I inventoried my new acquisitions from eBay.

Tonight I need to take care of some laundry and water the outside plants. I am going to try to run some trains and organize my trailers. I hope to soon get back to working on the Bridges Area.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Don: when I got the EcoTank over a year ago, I had rouble hooking it up. Turned out I was pushing the wrong start button.
I've had to buy one more black ink bottle but that's all.

We had a great crashing thunderstorm this morning, but it's over. I had to go out to buy some lunch.

Good morning all, just a short one today, I'm hoping to do some work on my layout, just have a few other things to get out of the way first.

No storms, significant damage on the east side from Sunday night's storm, nothing here but dirty vehicles.

Gas down a few pennies, Sam's Club at $3.15, eggs going for $2.99 for large. I was going to buy some at Walmart yesterday until I saw the price. I cannot see how our local restaurants can keep breakfast prices steady, then I see where Denny's is charging $16 for their Grand Slam that use to go for under $5.00 a few years ago and I realize inflation has no bounds.

Take care, enjoy the day...

We had thunderstorm all morning, then a bit more late afternoon.
Storm moved east to Toronto. They have an expressway and an arterial road built down a river valley. On the evening news, they said they could "see some door handles again". Last news I saw much of the pavement was visible again.
Also major flooding in some subway stations and Union Station and trains running erratically.

Good afternoon

It is a very pleasant day in southeast Ohio. It is 78° with humidity at 78% and a 16% of precipitation.

I mowed the back yard last evening and hit a root that has been growing along the surface. I must have been at a different angle before because I never hit it. I hit the front of the deck and it stopped everything but after I disengaged the mower it started just fine, I finished mowing with my new mower and I will see what damage I did to the other one later. I bought this mower 11 years ago when I figured the new one I had bought was not going to endure for a long time once the warranty expired and I was right. I got this one for 200 bucks and it had a rear bagger and it has run like a champ, even less vibrations than the Troybilt I bough new in 2020.

I am putting up some outside lights that my wife "suggested" we need because the business next door does not have their daylight security lights on anymore. I suspect lack of bill paying the culprit there.

I want to wish everyone to be safe and happy. No time limit to that.

Good morning everyone, a kind of pleasant day yesterday, under 110, today, not so pleasant, could get to 113. I know that's only 4 degrees difference, but anything over 110 is hot and we've hit 119 a few times already this year.

Gas has dropped to $3.14 at Sam's Club, large eggs are up to almost as much anywhere. Extra large dozen at Walmart is $3.34.

I think I have all my wiring issues fixed. Not only a couple of bad solder joints on a relay socket, but a few on the control panel as well. Why all the bad work, well, I didn't use the same standards that I imposed on stuff we built when I had our business, and secondly, I used solid wire rather than stranded and it just created a messy job that I'm really not proud of. Now I can move on to ballasting and working on my challenge.

Enjoy the day, stay focused and have fun.

Good almost afternoon

We have 72° with 61% humidity.  Gas remains at 3.29. Hamburger is priced out of control and 10 bucks a pound for steak that was 2.77 4 years ago is ridiculous.

I just got some handrails I need for a locomotive I got a buy on because of them being missing. I knew I could make them but I got the set for 10 bucks and they are great proportions with the prototype.  Train work takes a back seat because I have to take our dryer apart and clean it and see if it has a moisture sensor because the autodry function has quit working. It is a good dryer without an over abundance of electronics.

My friend Mike Manwiller has returned home after 83 days on the road with the CPKC 2816.  He knows a lot more now then he did when he helped me paint the locomotive in 1992  Icon_e_biggrin

     I will catch up later.

Good morning, it's Friday again, I don't know how this happens so quickly, but it's going to be August in a few days. I wonder if my mortgage holder has anything to do with this, just a way of getting their monthly payments quicker.

I just got my power bill for June, just shy of $400, they said it was $150 higher than last June, probably because of high temperatures. They skipped over the part that they've had a couple of rate increases since then and that June last year was the hottest on record. On top of that, I had a smart light switch go out and I tried to reboot it (remove power then restore) to no avail. Five hours later I'm sweating and found that I had knocked out my Wi-Fi in the process and couldn't access the thermostat. My computer wasn't affected since it plugs into the router. Technology is great until it doesn't work.

Gotta go, time for breakfast then an early appointment.

Have a great day, stay safe and stay cool...

Another week shot and nothing really accomplished yet the boss never said a word. It was a pleasant day and I just flat out enjoyed it.

Nothing to report.
