The Hobo Camp Fire Is going well #X.. Stop In!!!
Good afternoon folks

The temperature is 69 with a high of 71. We may see some showers later.

My wife took a fall earlier this week. After arguing with her about going to have someone look at her left leg she finally agreed to go to Urgent Care. So, we are going to be heading there after I get home from work. Her leg is doing better. She can walk around more than she could earlier I the week. What gets done around the house will depend on how she is feeling. I do need to pull and clean the fishpond filter at some point over the long weekend. We need to run to the grocery store, produce store, and PetSmart. And of course there is laundry.

I hope to be able to work on the Bridges Area. I have some foliage to place. I need to finish the subway entrances and put them in place. I want to put the track back down over the thru girder bridge and begin weathering it and laying ballast. I might work on a rolling stock car kit or two. And lastly, I want to run some trains.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Greetings, gang.

52 at the moment under clear skies. Maybe the low 80s later on with much lower humidity. Looks to be a very pleasant weekend weather-wise.

Laundry and trips to a couple of stores this morning. College football this afternoon. Those acorns in the front yard still need to be gathered. Pretty sure they won't go away on their own.

Gas down another nickel to $3.14 or $3.19.

All stay safe.

Hi everyone, just dropping by to say hi, and to make sure you guys are still keeping the best RR forum up and running while I've been away.
A lot of great stuff going on I see. I haven't had much time for my PistonBroke RR lately. Been fitting out my new "ute" (truck, to you guys I think)
I recently gave it an extended run and have just returned from a trip outback, into the centre of Australia, last week with a good mate to check out a big rock. Uluru, (or Ayres Rock,) plus a few off road trips about the place out there. Can throw a few pics in if anyone is interested.
I will endeavour to add a bit to the thread today showing a bit more of how I have added Computer control to The PistonBroke RR. and catch up on a lot of reading here. Icon_e_biggrin

Happy Labor Day (in the U.S.), gang.

Clear and cool at 50 degrees this morning. Supposed to get to the mid 70s under sunny skies later on.

It will be nice weather for walking in a parade later this morning. That and cleaning up some acorns are about the only two projects on my to-do list for the day. I did take a ride on the moped yesterday. Getting close to 200 miles on it so far. Right now the doe and 2 fawns are back in my front yard munching on acorns again.

Jack - good to see you back. The house looks extraordinary.

Gas was down to as low as $3.09 yesterday.

All stay safe.

Good afternoon folks

It is a breezy 76 going up to 78.

Not much planned for today. I have a few yard chores in addition to watering the gardens. I hope to pull the fishpond filter and clean it.

Of course after the contest is over I have my best day working on the Bridges Area and Subway Entrances. I am going to try to get progress photos posted to the RK&M Layout Remake thread. I hope to work on it some more today and run some trains.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Good morning folks

It is currently 55 with a predicated high of 74.

Friday after work I had to take my wife to the Urgent Care facility to have her leg looked at. She had fallen on Monday and had been in pain ever since. They examined her and took X-rays. Luckily there were no breaks, or chips. Basically, she needs to ice and rest the leg as much as possible. Saturday, we took a ride to the post office and PetSmart. Since her leg was bothering her we cut the errands short. Later I coordinated the dinner pick up run with a trip to the grocery store. Sunday we hung around the house doing small odds and ends. Monday was another home day, however, my wife got outside to harvest some herbs from her garden.

I had a good modeling weekend. I was able to paint the roofs for the station platforms I am redoing. The current platforms unfortunately took a fall from the layout and are no longer repairable. I painted the metal floor frames for four old Roundhouse kits. I Dullcoated the Subway Entrances and finished assembling them. I added the entrances to the layout and placed foliage and a couple of trees at the Bridges Area. I placed the track across the bridge. I did not get to run any trains but given all the other work I was not unhappy about it.

Tonight I need to move some laundry around. I hope to run a test train across the track on the girder bridge. If all goes well I will tack it down. I want to add some more foliage and some other details to the scene if I can find where I stored them.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Good morning

I was up early to take the car to have a starter installed. I was going to do it myself but my son insisted he would install it. He called last night and told me to take it to his friends shop as he got sucked in to do it. My sons excuse is my grand daughter is having a baby today so he is taking the evening off. Wink  (that makes 19 great grandkids for me)

I did not check the thermometer but it was chilly and still is.  Gas is 3.099.  Groceries are ridiculous Meat is out of this world. I am lucky with utilities because we are total electric and have a well so electric and phone are all we have and electric isn't too bad after shopping around for a supplier.

Have a good life ahead everyone.

And I'm just glad to be upright and above ground and not horizontal below... I'm doing Ok, and enjoying other stuff as well.

I really want to say that line in the sand is the drag mark of a large killer kangaroo's tail, or the trail of a deadly 50' venomous snake, but truth is it is the drag mark of the big log we set on our campfire.  Icon_e_biggrin

Fuel on the road in the outback $3.30 a litre. not a gallon!!  Times 4 I think to convert.
Happy days.
