Happy Halloween, gang.

41 and cloudy at the moment. Supposed to get to maybe 50 later on. Got just over an inch of much needed rain yesterday. More chances for rain this weekend and into next week.

I swam for a half mile and then went upstairs for some resistance work but apparently I did something to my shoulder. I couldn't even do the basic stuff. Gave up that project and came home. The rest f the day was spent enjoying the rain. Nothing really on the agenda for today.

Gas was down to $2.72 yesterday.

All stay safe.

Good morning all, temps are now in the below normal range. We went months, right up though this weekend with temps well above normal, now we've gone the other way. No complaints, we're in the 70's for highs and good enough that we went target shooting on Tuesday. Rain is still a fond memory. So far we've had about 4.5" of rain for the year. We might just see some this weekend. The rain forecast for this past Monday turned out to be nothing more than a flock of pigeons flying by.

A lot of stations are just under $3.00, gas in Casa Grande (about 70 miles south of us) is $2.59, haven't a clue why, but certainly not worth driving down there just for that. Not even worth driving to Costco, three miles away, just to save a few pennies a gallon.

That's it, I can now work out in my garage workshop which was usually well over 100 degrees, now I'm waiting for it to warm up a bit before I go out there.

It's Halloween, have a great day, watch out for the trick-or-treaters. For me, I just turn the lights out and hunker down. Not worth buying all that candy and not having kids stop by. Will go over to Walmart tomorrow and find all the Halloween stuff has been replaced with Christmas stuff and all the leftover candy sold at 50% off about five minutes after they opened.

Greetings, gang.

30 and clear headed for the low 50s. Rain starts again tomorrow night through Tuesday.

I cut the swimming laps a little short yesterday as I just got bored with the whole thing. Shoulder acting up today so I may just skip completely. Went to a talk about fraud at the local library yesterday and it had all the usual tips on how to avoid getting scammed. I did sign up to help at the library book sale on Wed. next week for a couple of hours. It will give me something to do.

My Thursday group was entertaining as usual. When I got home the usual ghosts, goblins, and other creatures were out in full force. A little different crowd this years as it appeared to be older kids, maybe 10-15 years old, running from house to house in groups of 4 to 6. Lots of vans and suv's parked that are not normally around here.

Gas dropped again yesterday to $2.69. Maybe we should start a pool on how much the price will increase on Nov. 6th.

All stay safe.

Hello Blue
Misty high in the 50s for the day. Sad to see that another summer is gone. We saw no kids last night, I don't know where they go. Did some errands this morning, then we stopped and did the vote early thing. It was busy but no line. I did not check gas prices as we didn't venture far from home. I do know nothing here is in the 2 dollar price range. Club house is open tonight, but I probably won't go.

Greetings, gang.

39 and partly cloudy. Supposed to get to the upper 50s this afternoon where the temperature will remain for the next few days. Rain starts late tonight and lasts through Tuesday with chances ranging for 70% to 100%. Could get between 2 and 3 inches by the time it's over.

Regardless of Don's sleeping pattern being interrupted I still need to do laundry today. I also want to get another herd of leaves corralled and if I'm lucky get them hauled off to the city mulching site before the game starts at 2:30. Since it's the first Saturday of the month this is when I typically tend to my wife and son's grave site. However with the rain scheduled I'm going to wait til next week.

All stay safe and don't forget to get up at 2 AM and change your clocks (except Don and maybe a few others who don't need to).

Good morning good people of Big Blue. Suppose to rain last night, looked out and nada. Looked at the county rain map and it rained in some areas over 1/2", the only areas with no rain is Surprise (ours), Sun City and Peoria (adjacent towns). It's just not fair.... Still a chance today for some rain, temps may not hit 70. Not sure if the Cardinals are playing at home, doesn't matter, they have a domed stadium to keep them dry and cozy.

Tom is right, yesterday was a good day for laundry, I coupled it with the laundry I did last Saturday and maybe today, I'll put it all away. It's not that I'm slow or anything, just it takes the right frame of mind to sort, stack and hang up these things. Well, until you run out of clean clothes then there's the inspiration you need.

Normal Sunday, church, some football, eating alone. Finally switched from A/C to heat for the season, it's about time.

Have a great day, have fun, stay safe.

Greetings, gang.

So far I've had less than a half inch of the 2-3 inches predicted between now and Tuesday and of course the NWS has now changed their prediction to about an inch total between now and Tuesday. Currently it's 47 supposedly going to the upper 50s later on.

I did get the laundry done and also managed to get the leaves raked and hauled off. It's probably gonna be about another 3-4 weeks before most of the leaves are down for the season. Whether they're all down before it snows it a whole 'nother story.

The F1 race in Sao Paulo this morning has been moved up from 11 AM to 9:30 due to rains. Whether the race is actually held remains to be seen.

I need to get a trickle charger for the battery on my moped to store it properly for the winter. I discovered that Harbor Freight has a 15% coupon that lasts through today. I was going to go early but with the race moved I'll go after the race.

Gas took another surprising drop. Went from $2.69 on Friday to $2.62 yesterday.

All stay safe.

Greetings, gang.

55, foggy, drizzly, and downright gloomy.  Supposed to stay that way through tomorrow.  So far I've accumulated just over an inch of rain.  The latest prediction is for a half inch tonight and another half inch tomorrow.  Looking at the national radar map those totals are possible.

Speaking of rain (I was!  See previous paragraph.  You guys have a short attention span!) Icon_lol  the F1 race was run almost entirely in the rain.  Rather humorous to watch multimillionaire drivers slipping and sliding just like us common folk.  Of course they're going much faster in much higher priced vehicles than most of us drive.  The tires for one race cost as much as my car.

Watching the race was somewhat of a challenge due to total lack of information from ESPN2.  They were showing the New York City marathon but gave no indication, either on the tv or on their web site as to where the race was being shown.  I wound up going to Harbor Freight (with my 15% coupon firmly in hand) to get the trickle charger.  Getting closer to storage time for the moped.

All stay safe.

Hello blue
My days and dates are a lot more accurate than Blues.  Icon_e_smile
We have a story book morning. Breezy, sprinkles, and 60 degrees.
Voted on Friday, will be most happy when all the annoying political commercials are gone. I watched the Lions win on Sunday then Christmas Vacation from a TV station in Canada. Some trees are naked, others still wearing some leaves.

Good morning and happy election day. Today is the day where all those great commercials, where we find out how bad the other person running is, will finally come to and end. Well, for now until the next election. A pity, if any of it is true, one of each of those opponents running for office will win and be running our towns, counties, states and the nation.... Scary, isn't it?????

Temps are running below normal now. After a summer of record high temps, we're now looking at a good 10 degrees below normal and not a drop of rain. We did have a few drops the other day but not even enough to cause puddles in the gutters. Total rainfall for Phoenix so far this year is 4.5". Some of you folks get that in one day....

Actually got some work done on my "name your poison" challenge that ended two months ago. I've always said, the older you get, the longer it takes.....

Take care, enjoy the day and don't get too upset with the election results. I understand there's a school somewhere that's giving the kids a few days off to deal with the trauma of the election results. Wow, talk about pampering our kids. Me, I mailed my ballot in a few weeks ago and I will not stay up late looking at the results.

Good morning folks

It is a chilly and foggy 52 this morning. High is supposed to be 72. We managed to go through the month of October without any measurable rain. Our next chance for some is Sunday. The ground is so hard I could not put out soe Halloween decorations because I could not drive them into the ground.

This past weekend we did some of our usual errand running; the grocery store, produce store, Kohl’s for Amazon returns, and the post office and UPS Store to drop off some of the wife’s recent sales. My wife and daughter went to a Fall Festival on Sunday and stayed home and began taking down the Halloween decorations along with doing laundry.

I did not get to run trains, but I did organize some of the rolling stock. I built 8 Lehigh & New England Bowser covered hopper kits. I built another 12 Acccurail boxcar, hoppers, and wood reefer kits. Since the number decals came from Accurail I renumbered 3 LNE boxcars.

It has been awhile since I did any decaling and I was having trouble with the decals falling apart. I struggled through two of the cars and then I remembered to coat the decal sheet with Dullcoat. Problem solved. The last boxcar was much easier to do.

My son is working at the polls today. The rest of the family voted by mail weeks ago. I will probably watch some returns. My daughter’s work, she is a councilor, is preparing for taking on cases of election anxiety.

I hope to build some more kits and/or run some trains tonight.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Happy (or not, depending on the results) Election Day, gang.

Rainy and 46 this morning with not much temperature change expected. Pleasant for the rest of the week with rains returning this coming weekend.

Got the bills paid yesterday so the house is mine for another month. Nothing else of importance occurred. This morning I'll be heading out to vote. I enjoy going to the poll mainly to visit with some friends who work there. After that I may drive to Ames to see about a new winter coat. The one I have now I purchased in about 2002 when my wife and I took an weekend trip to Minneapolis so it's time for a new one. This evening I'll be checking the local newspaper website to see if my granddaughter was successful in her bid to become the county auditor.

Gas dropped yet again. Down to $2.56 yesterday. Any guesses on how high it will go tomorrow?

All stay safe.

Don't forget to vote. There may not be anyone you want to vote for but there's probably someone you want to vote against!
