The Hobo Camp Fire Is going well #X.. Stop In!!!
Greetings, gang.

33 and clear at the moment.  Supposed to get to the mid 50s later.  I wound up with an inch and a half from the three day rain event from Saturday evening to Yesterday afternoon.  Nest rain scheduled for the coming weekend.  Seems like the NWS gave the farmers a break this year and let most of the harvest be completed before allowing rain back into the forecast.

So, yesterday happened.  I voted then went to Ames to look for a new coat.  Have you ever bought a coat (or other clothing item) that came with an owners manual?  I found a heated coat that came with a battery pack.  It also connects to my phone so I can control the temperature. Nope   Today I'll be heading to the local library to help with the semi-annual book sale for a couple of hours.  Hope I don't fall asleep since I've already been awake for almost an hour already.

Gas was showing a split personality yesterday.  Some stations were at $2.56 and others were at $2.89.  Roughly a 50/50 split from the half dozen stations I saw.

All stay safe.

Good morning all. The election is behind us. TV ads will be going back to the Accident-Injury lawyers and groups of people dancing around because of some miracle medicine that changed their lives. Street corners will take a few weeks for politicians to clean up what they hope would entice you to vote for them. Here's a good example of what just about every corner in town looks like:

Today is a busy day, x-rays, blood tests and lunch with a friend I haven't seen in over a year. Tomorrow I spend the morning taking another friend to his doctor appointments. He had major surgery and is not allowed to drive yet. One appointment is in Scottsdale, a hour's drive away. He's hesitant to ask, but then, what are friends for....

Have a great day today, some schools have today off for the kids to get over the election results, others are having pity parties. I'm sorry, but can't they be taught how to deal with life without being cradle kids? These are the kids that'll be running our industries and the country, let them grow up....please...

Greetings, gang.

Clear and 33 headed for the low to mid 50s with only very light winds. Similar conditions expected for tomorrow.

Yesterday was entertaining. Spent 2 hours at the library helping out with the semiannual book sale. Very nice lady also there who had prior experience so it went very well. After lunch I gathered up election signs. Local ordinance requires them to be removed within 7 days. Not much planned for today. Gym this morning and who knows what this afternoon.

Is it a surprise to anyone that gas prices jumped 30 cents after the election? The price did drop a couple of pennies yesterday but all local stations are reporting prices around $2.86, up from $2.56 the day before the election.

All stay safe.

Good morning

Cloudy here but warm.  The election is over and things will be back to normal.  All of the tax issues were defeated.  The politicians had better wake up. Folks don't have that extra dollar a day to give to sections of government that just spend without budgeting.

When I was a Senior (HS) our class treasurer was killed in a car wreck. The class walked to the funeral home and paid our respects and we walked back and continued classes. Today they would close the school and bring councilors in for a week. Kids are more resilient then they are given credit.

I am still doctoring for minor stuff, tests next week.

We had a sunny day in the fifties. Sounds cool but it was still comfortable. A visit with my Pee doctor this morning, nothing new, still have a small stone in each kidney.
Gas was $2.99 and eggs were in the $3.00 range at 2 stores. Club house will be open tomorrow evening, but I will wait and attend the monthly meet on Saturday.

Good morning all. It's been chilly and windy. Yesterday's high was 68 which means it was snowing up north and sure enough, they're saying that the Snow Bowl outside of Flagstaff will be opening early this year. I wouldn't head up that way if someone gave me free tickets and hotel lodging. I-17 is a construction mess. Someone had the bright idea to all a single reversible lane to the freeway for some 20 miles. The idea is that in the summer, the lane would be open going north on Friday and south on Sunday. That's a recipe for disaster. There's always a crash there on weekend anyway, so let's just add to the confusion. We actually pay these people to come up with these ideas????

Just another normal weekend coming up. Nothing exciting on the schedule. Got a full dance card for next week though, go something going on each day, seems like all my doctors are behind on their BMW car payments.

Take care and enjoy the day, rain, snow, sleet or just sunshine. It may be cold here, but the sun compensates for that.

Good evening folks

With our unseasonal warm and dry weather I will be taking down the outside Halloween decorations and finishing the last bin of inside decorations. We need to make the normal errands to the grocery store, pharmacy, and PetSmart. We lost one our Guinea pigs yesterday. He had bladder stones which is almost always fatal since they can’t be dissolved with medications and surgery is a usually not successful. We had him for three years and he was over a year old when we got him. E will need to keep an eye on his brother since they were a lifelong pair.

I will continue building rolling stock kits which are mostly Accurail. I have a few cars I need to renumber, and I have the decals for them from Accurail. I may work on the passenger station platforms. I really want to run trains since I have not had a chance over the last two weeks.

I may throw a rain dance in there for the weekend as we have not had any measurable rain for over a month now.

I hope everybody has a good evening.

Greetings, gang.

45 and cloudy with rain on the horizon. Not much though. The National Weather Service is predicting maybe a half inch to today and tonight.

Got another batch of leaves cleaned up yesterday. This morning I'll be hauling them off. At some point I may be going to my grandson's house. I got a phone call from him yesterday with a computer problem. After discussing the problem and figuring some solutions he started giving me a hard time about riding dinosaurs to school. When I told him that he was calling the dinosaur rider to solve his problem he went on about how the dinosaurs were aliens and they taught me about computers. He claimed he was too young and missed out on riding the crest of the computer knowledge wave. Love my family!

All stay safe.

Greetings, gang.

Very gloomy and 47. Maybe the mid 50s for a high. It's been drizzling since this time yesterday morning and I have less than a quarter inch in the rain gauge. More on tap for today.

Went to a basketball game for one of the great-grandsons yesterday and it was a very close game. Back and forth all the way until the buzzer. My great-grandson's team was ahead by one point as the clock ticked down. A kid from the other team tried a buzzer beater from over half the court away. As the saying goes "nothin' but net." Yep, sank it. Tough way to lose.

Gas has dropped a dime already from Wednesday. Down to $2.79 yesterday.

All stay safe.

Hello Blue
We had some overnight rain so it's still cloudy and very damp. Hi in the 50s today.
I watched a Buckeye win and then went to our monthly club meet. It was well attended.
Gas Has finally dropped below three dollars most places. Plans for today will be a Lions game and mayhaps a short nap.

Good morning folks

It is a pleasant 64 heading up to 67. This will probably be our last warmish day for a while. We finally got some rain. Not a lot, about 0.03 inches. It was just enough to make the project site muddy.

We got almost all of the Halloween decorations down and put away. I still the light strings to pack and a bin to put away. This morning, I discovered a decoration we forgot which I will take care of after work. My wife repotted the herbs from the outside planter, and I moved the pots indoors. We also did our running to the produce store, PetSmart, and the grocery store. My wife and daughter also wanted to it Michael’s.

I built a couple of Accurail boxcar kits and renumber some Accurail Delaware & Hudson Accurail hoppers. While I was getting ready to some trains I discovered the wheels on the Bowser covered hoppers I built last week were rubbing on piece. I looked at the newer Bowser covered hoppers I got from the ARHS and saw the piece has an intention for the wheels. I removed a section of the offending piece on three cars and now they run effortlessly. Eight more to fix.

I have to run to the pharmacy on the way home. I plan to finish putting the Halloween decorations away. I then need to find out from the wife what Thanksgiving decorations are coming out. After that I will get back to tweaking the Bowser covered hoppers and perhaps run a train.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Greetings, gang.

32 and sunny. Clouds have been scheduled to move in over the course of the day and rain chances begin this evening and last through tomorrow evening.

Quiet but productive couple of days. Sunday I got the car washed and waxed. Also discovered it's due for an oil change. Yesterday I picked up said oil and filter along with a few other items. Then managed to get some windows cleaned. Took a while for one in the kitchen as the storm window did not want to go back together. Had to get a ladder to get if fixed. Today I need to get another batch of leaves rounded up and hopefully get that done before noon so I can haul them to the disposal site.

The MR forum is pretty much dead. The only active thread is the Trackside Diner, their version of the campfire. The layout construction thread hasn't had a new post in almost 3 weeks. The other categories are equally quiet.

Gas continues to drop. Down to $2.71 yesterday.

All stay safe.

Good morning all, Tom, I laud you for your abilities to do things like swim, bike ride and even climb a ladder. I needed some air filters changed the other day, and I called Pat to come over since I'm shaky even on a short ladder.

It's been a long, long time since I was over at the MR forums. I don't even think I'm a member anymore since I think we had to re-register a while back. I didn't, but I did go peek just now and you're right, crickets....

A lot of stations here are at $2.99, Costco $2.89 and one Arco station on US60 is at $2.75 (cash). Not as good as other places, but far better than the west coast. I see regular going there from $4.00 to $5.00 and that's where the shipping docks, oil fields and refineries are.

Enjoy the day everyone and stay safe...
