The Hobo Camp Fire Is going well #X.. Stop In!!!
Greetings, gang.

Very windy (35mph+) with falling temperatures throughout the day. 45 now. Not sure how cold it will get. According to my rain gauge we got about 3/4 of an inch of rain yesterday. According to the NWS we got just over a quarter inch.

Sad day today. It's time to put the moped in storage for the winter. A neighbor has allowed me to put it in his garage. I'll pull the battery out and hook it to a trickle charger for the winter.

All stay safe.

Got some decent weather on the way Friday, 80% chance of rain!!  Been a long time since we had a measurable rainfall.
Still in a serious drought situation.
Matt, hope everything turns out well for you. Prayers for the fiancé for a quick recovery!!  Thumbsup
It seems that all insurance companys want to total the vehicles rather than pay out funds. Vehicles are way more expensive to replace now...

Tom....   Yup, it's time here too for the bikers to put their motorcycles away too.  I don't ride, but I have a few friends that have bikes.  There's always a feeling of "missing something" once it gets too cold to ride.  But thank goodness it goes fast, it'll be March before we know it  Smile Smile

Hello all,

Been along time. I used to be af350 thought royal blue is better description which happens to be American flyer 350 B&O stream lined pacific.
Been gone as life got in the way, several job changes, moved some health issues and lost family members. 2011 my brother passed, 2019 dad passed in nursing home about 4 years ago oldest sister passed from liver cancer then mom passed January 2023. As for immediate family just my other sister and her family .my great nephew looks like my dad, funny kid he thinks I only exists on the phone. When my sister baby sits anytime she is on phone he thinks it's me, but in-person he doesn't recognize me.
But then again I let myself go i was looking a lot like Cy from duck dynasty mostly beard. Along with losing family had to sell my 2000 Trans am. I miss that car, bad knees made getting in and out difficult. Before mom went to nursing home she could notget in my truck and her car not enough leg room so sold her car and mine got a 2023 Blazer. For a little suv it is cool but inside heated leather seats xm radio and backup camera. One day hope to find a 65ish Pontiac gto. Probably won't happen but does not hurt to dream.

Wow!!   Welcome back.  Your story sounds like mine.  I lost mom and a few aunts and their husbands and my brother over a 10 year span.
It's crazy how all that changes us.  Keep that dream alive....  I never thought I'd own an antique car, but I had a 72 Catalina for about 10 years.

Ngauger,

I am a Pontiac fan. Was sadden when gm terminated the Pontiac line.

I like the gtos from the 60's the Catalinas have similar styling they are square body shape but have that mean aggressive front-end. The only Pontiacs I don't care for is fiero, Aztec, and sunfire.
The early Trans am/Firebird were basicly cameros with a differnt
Grill. They were cool. I have recently discovered the over the air digital TV stations show older shows thar were on cable are new to me I especially like counting cars and fast and loud shows.

Greetings, gang.

Cloudy and 32 with 30+ mph winds. Both the temperature and the wind speed will increase during the day. Supposed to get to 36 with winds near 45 mph. Hang on to your toupee today!

I spent some time yesterday afternoon and evening sitting on the porch with my trusty space heater running. After looking at the forecast it will be a while before I can do that again. Trips to Menards and Walmart on the docket for today. Then if I haven't lost my motivation I'll head to the gym. Happy anniversary to the Trains on This Day in the Past thread. It was started 11 years ago today by Charlie. Thank you to Charlie and all who have contributed over the years.

Welcome to the holiday season. One gas station pushing higher prices already at $2.89. Others around town are below $2.50. I'm curious to see the prices today.

All stay safe.

Good morning Big Blue,
Most of the day yesterday into the night and so far this morning wet and foggy mid 50's and dropping. Snow flurries possible. No surprise for Central Ohio. Last few years winter here has mostly been bitterly cold and dry not like when I was a kid. In the 70's and and 80's especially 1978 we actually had a blizzard, tornado season that year was a dosie as well.
A bit sleepy yesterday was binge watching Counting cars night.
Currently in recliner bundled up waiting for mail and Amazon delivery.

Hello Blue
Another gloomy day, we have a lot of them through the winter. High might reach 50.
I don't have any special news. Our dental cleanings went without recalls. Gas was $2.99. We stopped at a local Coney for lunch, they were good but I belched the onions all afternoon. No train plans.

You guys are right, crappy weather is coming. They say that tomorrow and Friday will be the last of the 80's for the year. Gunna haveta put up with temps in the 70's for a while I guess. No real rain in the schedule, maybe a slight chance in a week, but so far we're still only at 4.5" for the year. I have cactus plants that are shedding arms because there's little moisture. If we really want cold weather, the Grand Canyon gets to single digits for a low now, Flagstaff is in the teens. Think I'll stay home, waited all summer for some decent weather.

Was out in the desert target shooting this morning with my younger son, a bit cool at first but once the wind let up it was jackets off. On our way out, we could see there was a backup on I-10 heading into town, a good three miles and getting worse. Did not see why, but the flashing lights said it was probably a major accident and best we take an alternate route when it's time to go home.

That's it for now, enjoy what's left of the day, as well as tomorrow...

Cooler, cloudy weather prompted us to have our walk in the mall today. Tonight, when we went to the Village's Cabaret it was absolutely pouring down. Very soaked just running in from the parking lot and my wife's coat is still not dry.

Hello Blue
Just stopped in to say we saw our first snow this morning. At 33 degrees it is already gone.
CMA ain't real country anymore. I took a peek and then went back to the football game.
