The Hobo Camp Fire Is going well #X.. Stop In!!!
Greetings, gang.

-13 with a wind chill of -39. 40s to near 50 next week if I can hang on that long.

I watched the SNL 50th anniversary show last night. Some very funny, some not so much. Paul McCartney needs to retire.

All stay warm.

Greetings, gang.

Much warmer today. Currently -4 with a wind chill of -19. NWS is claiming upper 40s for next week but it seldom gets that warm with this much snow on the ground,

Went to the gym yesterday and when I walked into the pool room I saw them adding water. I know how cold that water is so I just turned around and left again. Went upstairs and hit the treadmill for a while. Other than a trip to the gym not much else is on the agenda for today.

All stay safe.

Hello Blue
It's been cold so we have not left the house this week. Old you know. Was 7 when we got up. 20 for the day. Warmer next week.
Oldest son brought us some things from Sam's. 2 doz carton of eggs was $8.24. Last time out gas was still $3.09.

Went to see the SS United States being towed to the scrap yard.  It's going to be a large reef.

Greetings, gang.

-11 with a wind chill of -26 under clear skies this morning. Maybe +9 for a high.

Trip to the gym was routine. After lunch I started gathering materials to do my taxes. Should be fairly easy. Looks like I have everything I need. Also downloaded some more songs for my mp3 player and my phone. Early dinner with a friend then a 45 minute trip to another town for a concert with one of my great-grandsons this evening.

All stay safe.

On this or the previous version of The Gauge, one of the contributors was from Paris Junction Hobbies. (Paris, Ontario) They were in the news tonight as someones backed a truck through their windows and made off with a lot of RC vehicles.

The thieves weren't very gentle with the models. One was found by the side of the road.

Wow, David. That's pretty outrageous!

Greetings, gang.

Comparatively warm this morning at only -4. Predicted high in the mid teens, maybe. Warming trend starts tomorrow with highs claimed to be in the 50s by next week.

The pool was being filled again yesterday so no swimming. Water was too cold. Not sure where the water is going. Maybe there's a black market in pool water. Concert was fun last night but they were out of the dark chocolate candy bars. Gym this morning and maybe do my taxes this afternoon.

All stay safe.

Good morning folks

It is still cold and windy. Current temperature is 23 with winds that make it feel like 12. High is supposed to be 31. The contractor is removing the cofferdam and since we are right on the river the winds are stronger and very biting.

We had the heater folks out again as the hammering started again. They flushed the system and added a cleaner to the water. They will have to come back out and flush the cleaner out another day.

Yesterday I tried to work on the passenger station platforms, but it turned into a disaster. The stairwells would not go together correctly and when they did they would stay together. Things are so bad I had to reorder another kit.

What happens this weekend depends on if I am working Saturday. We have some heavy-duty cleaning to do for the dining room. We are trying to track down the source of an obnoxious smell. It has been driving us crazy for the last few days. I have to get to the laundry back log. Then there are the normal trips to the pharmacy, grocery store, and perhaps the produce store.

I need to do some organization and get a bunch of rolling stock boxes off the layout so I can begin to work on a different section of the layout. I might start a new building kit. I am leaning toward the REA building. I also want to assemble some more Accurail kits and a couple Walthers kit I recently got off eBay. Of course I want to try to ru some trains.

My son just got endorsed to be one of two Council at Large candidates for our township. He is currently on the township zoning board and has been a committee member and leader for a couple of years now. Not bad for a 26-year-old. The funny thing is when his grandfather saw his school photo back in the 8th grade, he said my son looked like the governor and started using governor as my son’s nickname from then until his passing. The strange thing is that as my father-in-law’s dementia worsened, he still remembered to call his grandson the governor right up until the very end.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Greetings, gang.

It's a balmy +11 this morning under clear skies and light breezes. Supposed to get to near freezing later on.

Yesterday and Thursday night were good for me I heard from all three kids within 24 hours. One daughter called Thursday evening on her way home from work. The other daughter called yesterday afternoon to talk about surgeries she had observed (she studying to be surgical technician). Then my son called while on his way home from work yesterday evening. It was fun to catch up with their lives. Also yesterday I watched a couple of nieces in a dance competition. Love the live streaming! Family does a lot of texting while watching. Fun evening. Today is laundry and more dancing.

Charlie - glad to hear you are recovering. I hope it's a speedy recovery.

Gas price is goofy as usual. Wednesday it jumped from $2.99 to $3.09. Thursday it dropped to $3.05 and yesterday it dropped back to $2.99. Go figure.

All stay safe.

Hello Blue
Sun, breezy, 23 degrees. 30 for the day. I'm hoping next week's warmer weather will melt the snow.
Sad to see the SS United States being sunk. I brought up some pics of the interior and it has pretty much been gutted. Walls, floors, ceiling's, most has been removed.
Taxes are done and in the mail. Our DIL does them but doesn't have the app to send from the computer.
Laundry is done, cartoons are over, had breakfast. Next event will be our monthly club meet.
