The Hobo Camp Fire Is going well #X.. Stop In!!!
Good Morning, Afternoon, or evening ( depending where you live ) everyone. We had a small winter storm move through the area late last night into the early morning hours today. Supposed to get up to 35 degrees today and looking at the rest of next week they are saying its to go from 50 to almost 70 degrees. Could this finally be the end of winter? Haha, I'm not getting my hopes up for that as I've seen snow into the month of April.

Train wise today, well I am going to work on the wreck train I have and get it all prepared for paint, lettering, and numbering. I am also going to make a trip to the hobby shop today to get more couplers as I once again ran out of those and probably will pick up a couple other items as well. The staging yard I built is finished and now I'm just waiting to make room in the house to start the benchwork for the rest of the layout.

Well that's all for now everyone. Hope you all have a wonderful morning, afternoon, or evening. Take care my friends.

That seems to be the way around here. The bad parts of the storms seem to miss us.

We went up to a shop today that is mainly fun stuff -- they have a 20 foot long jigsaw on the wall -- but I managed to buy a spray can of Dullcote. This replaces my 20 or 30 year old can than expired. Price was C$16! I think the old can was a couple of dollars. They said there's a problem and the spray cans can't be imported anymore but they can be sold.

Greetings, gang.

44 under thin clouds with a predicted high in the upper 50s. Near 70 for tomorrow. Great way to recover from the blizzard on this past Wednesday.

Last night I went to a play. It was interesting and quite funny in spots. Also very touching in spots. I just plugged in my trusty space heater and once it has a chance to get the porch warmed up that's where you'll find me for the remainder of today other than a bike ride this afternoon. This evening I'll be watching some nieces perform in a dance competition in Albuquerque.

All stay safe.

Tom

Edit to add: Mikey - My wife had a theory that the gypsum mines around here caused the storms to split and go around us.

Greetings everyone. It is a nice 44 degrees here today and by nightfall its going to get into the high 30s. Tomorrow starts the nice weather for the week with a high near 60. I'm just doing some small things around the house today while the paint dries on my work train. I will let it dry for the rest of the day so come tomorrow I can paint the rest of them and get the decals on.

Other than that stuff, the fiance is sick and I have been taking care of her the past couple of days. She has FLU A and needless to say I have been disinfecting everything she has been touching. She has been running a temp of 100 during the day and at night anywhere between that and a 103. Hopefully she can get rid of it soon and get back to her normal routine. This woman is so determined that she is still doing her online schooling because she doesn't want to fall behind even though her professors told her to do it when she can.

As of right now that is everything that is going on. Hope everyone is having a wonderful Sunday. For me starting this Friday through Sunday I will be busy watching Formula One Racing. Take care my friends.

Greetings, gang.

Clear and 36 in the remote reaches of northern Iowa this morning. Scheduled high in the upper 60s but with winds around 30 mph. Elevated fire danger warning posted for this afternoon.

With the nice weather I managed to get in a 7 mile bike ride yesterday afternoon but took it really slow. Gonna take a while to get back in shape. Watched the nieces dance competition form Albuquerque last night. Dances over by a little after 8 central time but results didn't arrive until after midnight. Both ladies did very well.

This morning I'll head to the gym and I may or may not ride the bike this afternoon, depending on the wind. This evening I have a music program to attend for one of the great-grandsons.

Matt - like you I'll be watching the F1 race. I always enjoy the politics as much as the race.

All stay safe.

Good morning folks

It is a balmy 51 with little to no wind to make it feel colder than it is. High is supposed to be 63.

We have a concrete pour scheduled for noon today. Hopefully the trucks do not get stuck in any traffic delays otherwise it could be a long afternoon.

Saturday, I did not go out. My wife and daughter went out to shop for a coat for my daughter and to get some kitten food. Since I had stopped at the pharmacy and grocery store on Friday there was no urgent need to make a run. I did some laundry and for a fleeting moment I actually finished all the laundry. That glorious moment only lasted about a half hour when a pile was discovered lurking in the bottom of the hamper.

I tuned up 13 passenger cars that I recently ran on a train. After that I got the idea to add a base for the Golden Valley Canning Company structure. I cut out the base and made sure it fit. I then had to make some minor repairs to the structure such as reattaching a couple of downspouts and a railing. It was then I discovered that the roadbed had not been glued down. I knew the track was not tacked down. I pulled the track and roadbed up and then glued the roadbed down. I also began to lay out the parking area for the coal dealer. I plan to use Smooth It for that.

Sunday we ran to Kohl’s as my wife had an online order to pick up. Of course we realized that we needed to go the grocery store and did so. Lastly we picked up sandwiches for dinner. I did a heavy duty cleaning of the range top and surrounding counter.

On the layout I tacked down the siding for the canning company and the piece of track that replaced a bad piece that I removed last week. I thought about starting the Trade Tower but that was as far as I got.

Tonight I want to see if I can again finish the laundry. The next steps with the Golden Valley Canning is the paint/weather the track and then ballast the track. At the coal dealer I need to place the paving tape to form the parking lot.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Hello Blue
We have sun at 60 degrees.
Weekend was a mess. Late Friday night my wife fell while getting out of bed. She was hurting but didn't want 911. So I managed to get her in bed but took her to an ER early Saturday morning. She has a fractured breast plate and lots of bruises. Shes feeling a little better this morning, was able to go out for breakfast with two of our grandsons. I noticed gas was $2.89. No special plans for this day but I will enjoy the warmer weather.

Hello friends
I thought it time to explain my lack of participation lately.

On Christmas day my wife became paralyzed with Gillian-barre syndrome. We rushed her to a hospital that had the proper drugs to reverse it and she is now in a long hard recovery. She could not even feed herself but has progressed to where she can walk a short distance with the aid of a walker.

On Feb 8th I was taken to the hospital with a very bad case of flu and I was unconscious for 4 days. The doctor told me he didn't think I was going to make it but thank God I pulled through it. I was in ICU for 8 days and 2 days in a regular room.  Then to top it off I came home and 2 of the prescription drugs interacted and I got a blister twice the size of  silver dollar on my left foot.  Today was the first time out and that was for a doctor appointment. I still need  a walker to walk and I am still weak but considering all else I am going to hang around and hopefully harass all of you for some time to come.

Wow Charlie, it didn't just rain on both of you, it poured! I am glad you both made it through to the other side and are hopefully on the mend.
Being in ICU, and also unconscious for days, aren't on my "to do" list, and I'm sure it wasn't on yours (or your wife's) either, but obviously the fighter in you pulled you through.
Speedy recovery to you both, and please, ............ harass away my friend.
