Greetings, gang.
Clouding up this morning after several days of sunshine. 20% chance of rain this evening with an allotted high in the upper 70s.
Rode 12 miles on the bike yesterday and decided to take a break from the bike for a couple of days. Seems certain parts of my body are not fully accustomed to riding that far. Not much planned for today other than the usual trip to the gym.
All stay safe.

Greetings, gang.
The pleasant weather continues. Clea and 46 at the moment headed for the upper 70s. Then a string of low 80s for the net several days. No rain in sight.
Veggie day yesterday. All I did was read and watch movies. Today I need to mow the yard and other similar projects around the estate. Also need to work on the indoor layout. My daughter will be home next weekend and said she wants to run trains.
Gas ranging for $2.68 to $3.09.
All stay safe.

Friday 5/09/25 already
Hello Blue
Sun and 60s for the day. We ventured out yesterday. Menards first. I checked their 3-rail train stock. Nothing for me. Some buildings, common freight cars, track and 1 train set left over from the Christmas season. Then White Castle with a gift card, then off to Arbys with a coupon. The surviving white Castles are in the freezer, Arby's we had for supper. Gas was $3.99 everywhere.

Wedding anniversary tomorrow. Plan is to go to Sarnia and look at the river with the USA as a backdrop. Dayle moved there for the last year of high school and her family stayed for a bunch of years.

Greetings, gang.
More nice weather underway in the remote reaches of northern Iowa. Clear and 54 at the moment headed for sunny and 82 with only light breezes.
Productive day yesterday. Mowed the yard early. Then a trip to the gym. After lunch I hit the bike trail for 12 miles. Also took down the storm windows and put the screens on the front porch. This morning I need to tend to the grave site. It's Saturday so that means laundry and soccer.
David - I've been to Port Huron several times and watched the river with Canada as the backdrop. There's a nice restaurant on the American side with outdoor tables. Indoors they have monitors showing the shipping schedules. A very pleasant place to visit and relax.
All stay safe.

We use to go to Canada a lot, till all the ID stuff was added to the crossing. Port Huron is a nice place to watch for lake freighters.
My wife said I got the gas price wrong yesterday It was 2.99, not 3.99.

We made it to Sarnia but thre was a cold breeze blowing across the waters.
Had a nice lunch and visited 3 shops. Dayle bought a wonderful book at the used book store and found that she already has a newer edition at home!

Good Evening.
It was a pleasant day here. My daughter and grand daughter came and trimmed and mowed the back yard for me, then they put the deck on my lawn tractor (with my help). It works fine but the front tires I ordered that were supposed to come today won't be here until Monday. I can still mow but I have to air the tires up every 20 minutes.
I had to fill the truck and buy mower gas today and it was 2.89. We had a high of 68 and it has cooled considerately tonight.
I am gaining strength daily and my wife is showing good signs toward recovery.

More pleasant weather underway outside my window this morning. 58 going to the mid 80s again. Officially it got to 86 yesterday but my backyard thermometer registered 94 with a scant 16% humidity. Humidity that low is very rare around here.
Had fun at soccer yesterday watching the kids play. Used lots of sunscreen. Also go the grave site cleaned up. Nothing serious planned for today.
All stay safe.

Greeting,s gang.
The nice weather is scheduled to continue until about mid week and then deteriorate through the weekend with eventual highs in the 60s and rainy.
Yesterday was pretty quiet for me. I did set out for a bike ride but realized I had forgotten my helmet. At the time I was about half way up a really nasty hill. Got to the top and turned around. Once I got the helmet I took a different route to avoid that hill again. Just rode around town looking for the automated speeding ticket dispenser. Never did find it. This morning I need to hit a few stores and then head to the gym.
Saturday when I was out and about gas was around $3.04 most places. Yesterday the price dropped considerably, down to $2.66. Most times it goes down 3-4 cents at a time. A nearly 40 cent drop is most unusual (but very welcomed).
All stay safe.

Good morning
It is partly cloudy and 60 degrees all ready.
I found a good deck for my old craftsman mower and put it on along with a new belt. 20 minutes later the belt was ruined and I was just tired of fixing old stuff so at 7AM a new Cub Cadet was delivered and at 8:45 I had cut 3/4 of an acre of almost foot high grass. I need to run the lawn sweeper over it and cut it again at a lower setting. The sweeping will take a while but the recut should move right along.
I did get a chance to paint a couple U23B locomotives last night so some modeling did get done.
I hope everyone has a great week ahead.

Good morning.
Light drizzle and 68° at the Wilderson acre.
I did get the grass swept and a second lower cut mowing yesterday before the rain. The lawn sweeper works better when the clippings are allowed to dry. It will still take a couple weeks before the lawn looks like I want it.
My wife is gaining ground daily, and now is able to do a few more normal things. Her walking is getting better, (she isn't shuffling across the floor as bad as when she started walking). She is also able to let me sleep through the night and that makes me more tolerable.
I hope to do some train work later.
Cheer to all
Charlie
