Good evening folks
The new work assignment has been crazy at times. I thought working for PennDot was bizarre and loaded with red tape and unnecessary routines. The PA Turnpike makes PennDot look like armatures. It took me almost four weeks to get necessary apps that I need to do my job loaded onto my I-Pad. The trainings weren't bad, just lengthy. I emails and proof of this and proof of that drove me and my supervisors and IT crazy.
We pulled the water lilies out of the pond and repotted them. We also repotted the plants we brought in last winter and placed them in their summer locations. My daughter and I began working on our replacement gazebo. We finished the frame. Now we need to wait until the rain stops to but the roof canvas and side curtains on.
I haven't done much on the layout. I inventories and tuned up some rolling stock. I began testing a couple of Walther's Proto E8 locomotives.
I hope everybody has a good evening.

Greetings, gang.
Sunny and 54. Chances of rain tonight and tomorrow then a big cool down for the next several days with highs only in the low 60s next week.
Ran the edger around the sidewalk yesterday to reclaim the areas lost over the winter. Looks much nicer now. I'll need to mow soon also. Only did a 4 mile ride on the bike. I waited too long and it was too hot to ride by then. I'll b heading shortly for today's ride. Not much else going on.
All stay safe.

Hello Blue
Gloomy skies, Hi of 73 for the day, rain tonight.
The flowers my wife got for Mother's Day are planted. Grass has been cut twice so far this spring. Didn't go anywhere over the weekend.
No special plans for today.

Greetings, gang.
55 and sunny with possibly some clouds later on with a high in the low 70s.
Tough day for me yesterday. I had to update my GPS, run the dishwasher, unload the dishwasher, and get the (empty) trash can from the curb. Also got the yard mowed and made a trip to Walmart for some yard chemicals. I did get the bug spray put down late in the evening after the wind finally died down. More high winds predicted for today at around 40 mph. I'll try to get the weed killer down in the next day or so.
Gas was steady at $2.66 for several days then jumped to $3.04 yesterday morning. By evening it had already dropped to $2.99.
All stay safe.

Good late afternoon
We have thunderstorms rolling through this afternoon. We had a doozy around lunchtime. It rained heavily with lots of lightning and thunder for about an hour. The rain gauge in the contractor’s yard at the PA Turnpike Route 100 interchange collected an inch and a half in that hour.
I spent some time last night breaking in the B&O E8 locomotives. I want to run one for a little bit longer. After that the fun begins establishing a train for them to run.
This weekend will be weather dependent. Tonight, I have to deal with some water in the basement. The water is getting through one of basement window wells.
Saturday looks like a wash for any outdoor stuff. We will probably be pulling out summer clothing and packing away the winter stuff. I see a post office run along with trips to the pharmacy and grocery store.
Sunday, we hope to get the roof cover on the gazebo and pull out the summer furniture from the garage. Also I hope to get a good look at the window well and figure out something to stop the water from getting in.
I hope to run some trains with the afore-mentioned E8 locomotives. I should start assembling the Trade Tower building. I need to finish up the base for the Golden Valley Canning Company.
I hope everybody has a good evening.

Cloudy & windy. 65 for today, yesterday was 85.
No train news, just checking in. Storms this past week created a couple hurricanes along with the usual wind damage in many places across lower Michigan.
Grass needs cutting but I'll wait till Monday.

Greetings, gang.
Sunny now after a cloudy and cool start. The over night low was 40 and our beloved NWS has allotted about 30 additional degrees for today. They have also scheduled rain for us starting tonight through Wednesday with as much as 4 inches of stuff I at least don't have to shovel. Winds have died down considerably also.
Had a reasonably good time yesterday at the last soccer games of the season considering the cold and wind. Baseball starts Tuesday with pretty much all games out of town by a minimum of 20 minutes, most closer to a half hour. Yesterday afternoon I showed my daughter and her husband around town, showing the changes made since she moved away. Then my other daughter and one of her sons showed up for supper. All in all a very pleasant day.
Watched a quite entertaining F1 race this morning. That has pretty much completed my list of tasks for today.
All stay safe.

Cloudy, cool, windy with rain in the area. The NWS has dialed back its forecast. Now only a couple of inches at most by Wednesday but it's still very much appreciated. They could allow a few more degrees than the 60 allowed for today. Even cooler for the next couple of days. No warming until maybe the weekend.
Not much planned for today. A trip to the gym this morning followed by a stop at the grocery store for milk and a couple other things. Then a presentation this evening at the library about bootlegging activities in the area during Prohibition.
All stay safe.

46 going to 56. No rain for a while. 50s and 60s for the high through Memorial Day.
Another frigid sporting event yesterday. Baseball for the great-grandson. 55 degrees and light drizzle. I made it through the first game and half way through the second game before I gave up. A hot shower and some ice cream and I was fine for what little remained of the evening. Nothing of note on the calendar for today.
All stay safe.

Hello Blue
Lite rain at 50 degrees. Got the grass cut on Monday, weather has been crappy ever since.
Not much going on, not nice enough to spend time outside. Weekend looks good though.
We had lunch with a few of my wife's HS friends yesterday, first time out in a few days. Gas was $2.89.

Hi gang
I got the grass mowed yesterday and we had storms and rain overnight. Currently it is 58°.
Gas is 2.98
I finished decaling 2 U23B unites with Lehigh Valley road name and got the dull coat sprayed on them yesterday. Next step is all the grab irons and hand rails.
Rain is in the forecast. I am doing laundry and I have to go to the drug store to get some prescriptions for my wife when they are ready.
Cheers to all
Charlie

Greetings, gang.
Another (comparatively) frigid day in the remote reaches of northern Iowa this morning. Currently 44 degrees headed to maybe 60 later on. No 70s in the forecast until the middle of next week.
Routine day yesterday and today looks to be the same.
All stay safe.
