Ok can someone please give mother nature her meds or give her a beer or two? We are getting ready to be hit with a major storm as the weather people call it haha. They can't even tell us when it will be hitting us full force and are still guessing and changing the times and the amount we are to get. Anyways, today will consist of waiting for the mail to get here as I bought two freight cars off of Bruce and can't wait to jump right into those. My decals I ordered are on back order so I can't complete my MT-4 just yet but it is 99.9% complete.
We did get our Christmas tree up and I got the train set up around it. After months of rebuilding, lettering, and numbering, CR GP40 #3091 is officially pulling trains again. We do have some more Christmas shopping to finish up this upcoming week and weekend, then the fun of wrapping it all up for it to be torn apart in less than 10 minutes begins. Hope you all are having a safe and warm weekend. Take Care.
Matt
I can smell a steam post ten blocks away and when I do clear the tracks because the steam express will be hi ballin through

Hello Blue
We are having February temps in December. The day started at +6 degrees. Must be from global warming. 16 now.
We had our Detroit3Railers club meet last night. Always well attended. The basement got pretty crowded, so I left early. Don't need to be catching someone's germs.
Lowest gas price I say last night was $2.74.

Greetings, gang.
A balmy 20 degrees this morning in the remote reaches of northern Iowa. At least balmy compared to yesterday morning's -11. High today near freezing and above freezing for the next several days.
Nothing at all accomplished yesterday other than food consumption. Woke up this morning with a kink in my neck so I don't know how much I'll be accomplishing today. Looks lie there's a basketball game tonight for one of the great-grandkids.
Charlie - I couldn't agree more. My only hope is that since winter stated so early maybe spring will start early also.
All stay safe.

The storms have passed..... Officially 4 inches of white stuff. Tired of winter already and it's still Fall!
my friend's outdoor G-scale is buried in snow. He runs it every weekend until mid January for the neighborhood kids, so him and his crew (5 total) have some cleaning up to do before Saturday. Rain is in the forecast for Thursday, we'll see how that goes.
Still cold here, not going above freezing until Wednesday.

Good morning
It's a cold 12° this morning in southeast Ohio with the sun shining between bands of very light lake Erie effect snow.
We got snow over the week end but I did not do the drive because there was ice and the snow is easier to walk and drive on, but a few minutes ago I saw a white pickup with a huge plow come down my drive and cleaned up all the snow and ice. My son had his crew come by and do the drive and they hand shoveled the little walk way too so I am good to go. The lawn tractor doesn't have enough weight to break the ice.
i am still organizing photos which seems to be a never ending battle. I have a huge collection of family photos going back 160 years as well as a huge collection of historical photos from the area. I have a few train pictures too
If all goes well some time in the train room will be allowed today.
My wife is really doing well and pretty much on her own. She still isn't strong enough to drive but she is working out so that too will come.
I started a new arthritis medicine and it seems to be working well too but claims are it take 3 weeks to really kick in
Cheers

Greetings, gang.
23 and clear in the remote reaches of northern Iowas this morning with an allotted high in the upper 30s.
Another quiet day passed yesterday in the headquarters for the Backyard & Southern. This morning I need to make a grocery run and will probably stop at the gym also. I also need to start clearing out my office so I can paint it. Still need to finish the stairway once I decide on a color for the ceiling.
Charlie - glad to hear the Mrs' is doing well.
All stay safe.

Good morning/afternoon.
Currently it's 30° with sunshine. We had coffee on the sunporch and watched the birds.
I assembled a hopper car, repaired a woodworking building, and put a new heating element in my soldering station. I have a spare iron for it and it too now needs an element so I ordered some from Xtronic. 3 elements were only 1495 including shipping and I use it a lot so there is no shame.
I have some projects to do but my garage has no heat and it is too cold to do them. They are no rush and spring is only 3 months away
Cheers
Charlie

Greetings, gang.
It's going to be an interesting 36 hours weather-wise around here. Currently 27 with a predicted high around 40. Then rain tonight. Then winds up to around 35 mph. Then tomorrow morning the temperature will drop to around 5 by late tomorrow afternoon. Such fun. At least it's rain and not snow but I hope the rain stops and the streets and sidewalks dry before the temperature drops. Otherwise it could get really nasty.
I did get the ceiling painted in my office yesterday. This morning I'll be making yet another run to Menards for some paint for the walls. Then the only thing left to paint will be the ceiling in the stairwell. I'm waiting on the new curtains (due tomorrow) before I decide on that.
Gas jumped yesterday from $2.23 to $2.59
All stay safe.

Staying in a local hotel.
windstorms in the middle of the night knocked out a lot of electrical lines.
Hopefully, we've been told it should be fixed by midnight tomorrow.
fingers crossed.
