Greetings, gang.

It's a brisk 3 degrees this morning, quite a change from yesterday's 40. The winds came through and caused some serious weather conditions resulting in cancellations of both my dinner last night and the concert for the great-grandson. Concert is scheduled for this evening instead.

I did get the touchup painting finished and had the crown molding all taped off. Decided I didn't have time to paint so called it quits for the day. Got my shower and was ready to go to dinner when I got the call canceling. Would have had time to paint. Drat! Oh, well. I'll get it painted this morning. I have noticed that the 3M blue tape labeled "Scotch Blue Sharp Lines" does not stick well to vertical surfaces without some extra burnishing. There's a few places this morning where I need to reapply the tape. The rest of the day will be spent putting my office back together.

All stay safe.

Hope it gets turned on soon!!
We're expecting high winds tomorrow.
Take care!

Thanks, Ngauger.

Power was out for about 36 hours.  Started with gusts throughout the Willamette Valley with wind gusts around 40-50 mph.
Up on Mt Hood, there was a gust over 100 mph!  Heavy rains, we got 2.8 inches in 24 hrs.  The Coast got even more.

Now we are warm and cozy again, and have lights after 5 pm darkness hits.
Makes you appreciate how much we depend on electricity.
Our utility crews are really unappreciated heroes.
Working in very nasty wind and rain.

I am grateful to them.

Welcome to the first day of winter, gang.

35 and cloudy in the remote reaches of northern Iowa and that's our allotted high for the day. Same for tomorrow and then into the 40s with the lower 50s predicted for Christmas day. Seems that maybe the calendar has slipped a gear or two. So far in December we've already received our annual average total of snow fall (37 inches), had bitterly cold weather (-17), and had a couple of blizzards. Most of the snow is already melted and will mostly be gone by Christmas day. Now it seems the calendar is rushing ahead to spring. Not complaining, mind you.

The decoration refresh has moved another step forward. I finally finished my office yesterday. Only a few knickknacks left to put back in place. Last areas to be painted are the stairway ceiling and crown molding. Gonna take the weekend off except for the routine stuff. I do need to make a trip to Target and possibly the grocery store for a few items.

Gas price is starting back down. $2.52 when I came back to town last night.

All stay safe.

Greetings, gang.

Currently 19 after an overnight low of 12. Supposedly hitting the upper 30s today.

Yesterday went pretty much as planned with shopping and laundry. This morning I need to make a trip to Menards and Walmart early before the crowds start up. Otherwise no serious activity planned for today.

Gas price is continuing on its yo-yo ride. $2.49 yesterday.

All stay safe.

Greetings, gang.

35 going to 45 under cloudy skies. Still on track for the low 50s on Christmas Day.

Yesterday was pretty quiet. I did get several calls from my daughter while she and her husband installed a new dishwasher. Also got the paint for the stairway ceiling. Otherwise not much happened.

This morning I'll be painting that ceiling along with the crown molding. Not much else planned. With the predicted nice weather for Thursday I may actually get the pollution solution vehicle out of the shed and go for a bike ride, just so I can say I did.

All stay safe.

Hello Blue
Monday 12/22/25
Temp is 33. w/cloudy skies.
Snow is all gone, won't be any this week. Got no special plans for the day. Missed a Christmas Zoom meet on another forum. Forgot the date.
Watched the Lions lose one they could have won. Starting to think the NFL wins are decided before the game is played.

Greetings, gang.

33 going to only the upper 30s today. Seems the NWS has reduced the number of degrees allotted to me for Christmas Day. Yesterday they were predicting the low 50s, now it's only the low 40s. There goes my plan to ride the pollution solution vehicle on Christmas Day.

I got the first coat on the stairwell yesterday. I'll need to put a second coat on today. It's very awkward to paint a stairwell and my stomach muscles are definitely protesting this morning. Trips to Menards and a grocery store are on the scheduled for early this morning.

All stay safe.

Happy Christmas Eve, gang.

32 going to 40 under clear skies. Found out yesterday what happened to my extra degrees for tomorrow. Seems my daughter in Rapid City stole them! My forecast for tomorrow is down to 41 after previous forecasts predicted highs in the lower 50s. Her forecast has been raised to the mid 60s for tomorrow.

Yesterday was productive. I was out and about early and got everything on my list. After breakfast I got the crown molding on the stairway taped and painted. This morning I'll put the second coat on and the main floor update will be complete! Cleanup will be fairly straight forward. I'm think though that if I get all the little pieces of blue tape off my ladder the ladder will be about 5 pounds lighter. Only other item on the to do list is to bake a cake.

Gas was down again yesterday when I was out and about - $2.43

All stay safe.
