Steve:
Are the lamps all in one place? Reason I ask is the shadow under the car. Looks very good. Lamps spread around the room shouldn't give such a crisp shadow.

Gary, I have a string of fixtures set up end to end above the layout. Page 13 and 15 of this thread has a couple of pics of the setup
Steve
Here are a couple of pics of the section. I am still working on it, and it is still in a bit of a "sterile" condition. I will post tighter shots as I complete areas :

Steve,
Awesome as always and I am glad to see the black nothing has gone away. I really like the feel of the scene and I think will really breaks up the layout. Will you be adding any type of backdrop work or are you going to leave it as is?

Thank you very much guys! I really appreciate the kind words
Gary....you CAN do it! mountaingoatgreg Wrote:SteveGreg....where the backdrop is at least partially hidden (by trees, structures etc) I will probably not mess with it. The real challenge will be where it is totally exposed (the ends of streets). I know what I want to do, but it remains to be seen if I can do it I am not going to tackle that at the moment however, I want to get the scenery done up to, and including, the river. I also have one more structure to do at this end............. I did a little more work, so here are some pics: Still need to "plant" the tree The fore mentioned structure........or at least its mock up:

Steve,
They are...right it keeps getting better and better!!! I know what you mean about the backdrop I am still trying to figure out what I want to do with mine. I don't want to get to far and have to remove things to get to it but that is why I have a narrow layout I would like to try the photography thing and stick pictures on there but I may also decide to try and paint it. I like the new little building what is it going to be????

Balast pile - nice choice for the front scene. Some MOW workers with shovels and a pickup truck would really set it off and tell a story.
NICE difference in lawn heights. As I stare at the photos I can imagine all kinds of detailing possibilities; I'm getting drawn into the scene and that's really great. It's working! As for the backdrop - you can always try a simple paper scene inserted behind the structures and see how it looks. I think getting the perspective right (vanishing point, horizon line, etc.) is the trickiest part. How realistic you want it to look is semantics by comparison. Galen
