Steve,
Well glad you able to join us again and what a great little project you have been working on. This is a superb example of taking your time and getting excellent results. I have been thinking of tackeling a similar project and seem to keep puting it off. Maybe I should finish just one thing done before I try and tackle a project as involved as that. Keep up the great work and we look forward to your new scrap yard.

Why pay too much for a "Craftsman Kit" when you've got the time and patience to develop the skills to scratchbuild or kitbash your own? You are proving that anyone can start small - there's always room for another shed - and see what happens. Granted, you've far exceeded simple shed status as evinced by WB grain, the coal dock, etc., but here you've elevated a little shed with attention to detail and loads of character showing age and deterioration, and as you say there's more room for signage, etc. to take it to the next level!
Now I'm definately not in the nail-hole camp, but even I have to admit they look good on this little cutie. Nice work!!

I need to be reminded that it can be done better, otherwise I would get complacent, and my skills and accomplishments would suffer.
I was interested, until I got to the shot of the roof........THAT was an
attention getter !!! I can't wait to see the shed with signage !

Thanks everybody!
The shed was fun to do and let me try a few new things. The scrapyard that it will eventually go in is not my next project however. I am going to do the background buildings behind it.
The next build will be the L-shaped building in the red circle. The scrapyard will be down, across the tracks and to the right (out of picture).
More as I get started......
Thanks again for all the kind words and encouragement!

About time you started something new, I thought maybe you gave up on it.

I went to take a nap, and look what happened.........I woke up over 2 months later!
After taking a long break from modeling, I wanted to get back at it (actually Kurt bullied me into it
). Before the next build, I decided to finish what I already have. That meant doing the coal conveyors for the coal house and spreading trash around the layout.
This is not the best pic quality-wise, but it shows how this end of the layout has shaped up with the conveyors and other details:
A small conveyor peeps out of a mostly empty bin. Also the sign suggests that Mr. Gallimore has apparently been getting ripped off lately
:
Now a little trash here and there:
I may be making some changes to the right side plans.............I should have it figured out pretty soon (I'm talking days, not months
)
Take care
Steve

Hi Steve welcome to the Forum!!! ok j/k
I am glad to see you back at it and completly understand about taking a break!!
I really like the little details you have started to add as it really adds to the overall effect of the layout, I hope to see more random debris and other details spring up along the track!! Also....DON'T TAKE SO LONG BETWEEN POSTS
