R J Corman installed those steel ties here in Frankfort when they did their tunnel enlargement project last year. The track through the tunnel is in a crossing signal circuit. I think they have insulating pads between the ties and the rail. Train crews complain about the "weird" sound going through the tunnel as the steel ties make popping and cracking noises.

Thanks for posting all the updates! I have enjoyed following the progress. As someone else has mentioned, it is great to see rails going down instead of coming up.

Here are a few picture of the line. The runaround is in and it is about 7200 feet long. Nice track, really feels good and the scenery is spectacular             10/7/2011

First coal train loaded at Logansport today.Here the train is northbound past Kelly's Station
