Is that the unit that returned them home after Spencer? That is a great picture to show how close they are when coupled. I knew it was close but wow.

That was one of the last shots I took of the trio as they were leaving for North Carolina. They had to be that close in order to get into the nose door of the F from another locomotive. Good thing the door opens inward. I wonder what they would look like if EMD put a traditional pilot on the front of the covered wagons.

This was the hand off from the DL to NS in the same location that day.

How cold was it today? Almost too cold, but I did manage to catch NS 956 heading east with a matched consist of F units at Enon Valley.
