Here's the westbound morning mixed as it pulls into Lowbanks. With only two loads, an empty gon, and the combine, the two locos weren't really necessary, as most of the trip was downhill. This train terminates here, but both locos will be needed on the eastbound counterpart this afternoon, even if that train is no longer than this one.

Fond memories of the "54 s", but the ones I remember, as a kid in Copiague, N.Y., got their power through a "shoe, and the third rail." Thumbsup Wink :mrgreen:

Rare to see a consist of Alcos like that these days (I suspect though, that some of those are MLWs?)

Also, I'm hoping that GP9 is just getting an overhaul. I road behind that engine for one of the excursion trips this past summer.

Monday and Thursday are the usual track inspection days through here. These guys came through this afternoon. I was at the McKinley Road crossing, just 3 miles west of Homewood Junction, Pa.
