The new streetcar line ran very well. It was standing room only most of the trip, although we exercised senior privilege and took seats as they became available. Trips are free until next Monday and the line does pass right beside one of the universities (and is a short walk from the other one).
Part of the route runs along the CN branch and shares track with it. There is gauntlet track at the platforms -- for wide loads? -- on this section.
