I've decided to add a second layout to my to-do list even though the first one is still very much in progress however, I need a break from big power, conspicuity stripes and graffiti.
The Kensington Subdivision is set on Prince Edward island in eastern Canada in the 77-85 era when CN actually served Canada from coast to coast. Traffic traveled to and from the island by car ferry. The section I am modelling is from Traveler's Rest to Summerside. Power will be MLW RSC-14's (There were 38 on CN from 1977 - 1996 and used on light rail trackage. They have A1A trucks to distribute the weight of the loco over poor track. They started out as standard Montreal Locomotive Works (MLW) B-B RS-18's) Caboose (vans) and transfer vans will be used.
I attached a working draft of the track plan. I'll update it as changes take place.

Very interesting subject. It is going to be fun to watch this come to life.

Someplace we have a card with a drawing of Kensington station that we brought back from our trip to PEI. But that was in 1975, outside your era.

In model railroading, there are between six and two hundred ways of performing a given task.
Most modellers can get two of them to work.

I admire your bravery, Stephen - putting in a second layout before the first one is finished. My wife (for one) would have thought I'd lost my marbles. I'll love seeing those RSC14's in action.

The station remained relatively unchanged until the town council let a restaurant ruin a heritage building abou15 years ago.

Bravery? No, more like stupidity
My wife will be surprised when construction starts. I don't say anything about what happens on the ground floor and she usually me have free reign in the basement.

I'm still tweaking the design and have just sent off a 11'5" draft for some additional space.

Good looking pieces. Great job on the weathering.

I look at that stack of "modules" and got me thinking. It's a good way to build a layout - especially if your "layout space" is in flux.

A word of warning. One fellow I worked with was sure that writing "Final" on a report or project would ensure that it would be redone.
An actuary I worked for, after a number of re-runs of something for a friend of his, sent me over with the "anteprepenultimate list".

I'll pass that along to my friend. His talent and his amazing layout in the background.
